General Hospital Comings And Goings: Morgan Fairchild Joins GH

Morgan Fairchild General Hospital comings and goings reveal daytime and primetime soap vet Morgan Fairchild joining the soap for a limited run next week.

General Hospital Spoilers – Sasha’s TV Meltdown With Morgan Fairchild

Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) has been falling apart at the seams ever since she lost her newborn baby right before Christmas last year. She’s been fighting her drug addiction and also dealing with the guilt of being the one to kill Harmony Miller with her car. And now she has to put on a happy Face of Deception face and go on a talk show called Home and Heart where she has to face host Haven de Havilland, played by none other than Morgan Fairchild.

Fairchild is no stranger to soap operas, as she spent four years in the 1970s on Search For Tomorrow, following it up with a big role on The City in the 1990s. She most recently played Angelica Deveraux on Days of Our Lives in 2017. While this may be a guest role, it certainly looks like a fun one.

GH Spoilers – Morgan Fairchild Is Thrilled To Be On GH

Fairchild had not been looking for a new soap part, but when she heard about General Hospital wanting her for this fun little role, she was ready to jump at the chance. Plus, it’s a fun role that will move Sasha’s story as she has a very public meltdown on live television.

They said they had this part and thought I’d be good for it and I was looking forward to the chance to work with everybody,” Fairchild said in the July 5, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “My character is very fun and over-the-top — my usual over-the-top thing. And a little bit mean, which I can play falling off a log at this point in my life.”

Fairchild also spent time on primetime soaps, including Paper Dolls and Flamingo Road, but loves returning to daytime. “It was great training for me and I’ve always said, if you can do daytime, you can do anything,” Fairchild said. “The amount of work, the amount of dialogue, the way it comes at you so fast and you have to think on your feet. The stories are so interesting and more diverse with their casting that it looks like real America.”

Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see Fairchild’s Port Charles debut.
