General Hospital Comings & Goings: Bradford Anderson Out As Spinelli Leaves For Australia

General Hospital (GH) spoilers​ reveal that the show concluded Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) story arc (for now).

It was announced in the July 23 episode that Maxie is joining Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) in Australia after Spin got a job Down Under. So it looks like Bradford Anderson will be out at GH for awhile.

Their kids will join them and the show gave fans a happy ending by allowing for a sweet goodbye to James West (Gary James Fuller) and Cody Bell (Josh Kelly).

Spinelli & Maxie Depart

Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) put Maxie and her family through heck. He pretended to be Nathan West and this took an enormous toll, especially on James. It makes sense that Maxie would want to have a fresh start away from PC.

At the same time, Maxie sold her Deception shares to Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) which puts him on the playing field with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring).

Deception Afoot

The way Maxie’s exit was written was handled well, with grace and intrigue. It beats the heck out of the writers writing out live wire Kristina Corinthos (Kate Mansi) by having her accepted to UCLA medical school.

That is pure fantasy but we suppose it works if they plan to bring her back as a GH doc. Except who in their right mind would see her for anything other than a gin and tonic?

New GH Direction

In Maxie’s absence Serena Baldwin (Kelly Kruger) will cause disruption at Deception and it looks like she could be a love interest for Michael.

Fans know that Kirsten Storms, who has relocated to Tennessee, shared on social media that she doesn’t see herself returning to Los Angeles and the role of Maxie.

This brings about possibility of a recast although the show has not addressed this.
