From their fictional locations to their plots to their stars, these soap operas might seem to have nothing in common. But while the soaps themselves vary, the actresses do share one theme: They never seem to age!
Can you tell which stars from your favorite soap opera shows have turned to plastic surgery to turn back the clock? See if you guessed right below!
General Hospital Actresses Talk Plastic Surgery And Aging
The actresses who have starred on General Hospital never hesitate to show their strength. Five of the women talked with TV Insider about the topic of plastic surgery and aging.
Jane Elliot (Tracy), Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis), Finola Hughes (Anna), Maura West (Ava), and Michelle Stafford (Nina) agree that the attitude toward using older women on soap operas has changed dramatically.
Just a few years ago, soap opera producers seemed to feel that older women should take a back seat to younger stars. And that put pressure on women over 40 to change their appearance through measures such plastic surgery.
GH News – But Not Anymore.
Finola Hughes credits General Hospital “evolved executive producer, Frank Valentini” for the sea change.
As a result, older actresses once again shine on the soap opera. But Grahn admits that plastic surgery or other measures for looking young and sleek still tempt her.
“When I’m doing a bedroom scene, I’m constantly going, “Don’t shoot my fat arms! Get that camera away from my ass!” I hate the fact that we focus so much on looks, yet I’m the first one to get a spray tan,” confessed the actress.
So Which General Hospital Stars Have Undergone Plastic Surgery?
“There are actors on our show—beautiful young women—who have already started with the plastic surgery,” revealed Elliot. “They’re trying to hold on to what they had. I don’t know that the audience is expecting that of us. We expect it of ourselves. We’re the ones looking in the mirror going, “Oh, my God, I can’t stand my neck! Oh, my God, my eyes!”
And Grahn served up a confession about her own plastic surgery.
“I’ve had a little plastic surgery here and there over the years,” revealed the actress. “I prefer to be open about it, because I think it’s dishonest otherwise.”
But she might not be the only older actress who has chosen plastic surgery to turn back the clock.
Stafford pointed out that viewers probably can’t tell which actresses have undergone “good” or skillful plastic surgery procedures. They only notice the bad work.”
This Bold And The Beautiful Star Confesses To Plastic Surgery!
The Bold And The Beautiful star Katherine Kelly-Lang also opened up about her decision to undergo plastic surgery, talking to Now To Love.
Katherine shared that she opted for the non-invasive methods of plastic surgery.
“Sometimes I do a little filler, sometimes I do a little Botox. I do all those things but I try really to stay natural and not do it all the time,” she admitted.
But Kelly-Lang plays it safe by taking the “less is more” path.
“Sometimes the doctor does go overboard and I’m like ‘well I never want to do that again!’,” she said. “At some point you have to age gracefully, and you have to accept that. You can’t get rid of every line and wrinkle.”
The Young And The Restless Actress Undergoes Face Lift Plastic Surgery
Just like Katherine Kelly-Lang, one star on The Young And The Restless doesn’t hesitate to talk about her plastic surgery.
Jeanne Cooper allowed the TV cameras to film her undergoing a face-lift plastic surgery procedure. Jeanne shared that she had plastic surgery for her eyes as well as a chin tuck.
“It was so funny having the cameras in the procedure room while they were doing my facelift, but when it was over it was incredible,” stated Cooper.
