General Hospital spoilers hint that the temperatures may cool down in the land of Port Charles come the fall; however, the drama will heat up!
The soap’s co-head writers, Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte, recently spoke to TV Insider and offered a preview of what fans should expect in the months ahead.
Drew Cain’s “Who Dun It”
Korte and Van Etten note that Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) will be at the forefront of those accused of Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting. . (Make sure to check out our weekly GH spoilers, here!)
They note that Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) son will exhibit a ruthlessness not seen before since he survived the penthouse firebombing. In addition, the writers say that Michael, “ … will find himself with the upper hand [in his war with Drew and Willow] — but what will he do with it?”
Monica Quartermaine’s Goodbye

Michael will also be dealing with some sad family drama, as the ABC soap and fans say goodbye to Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson).
The writers state, “For most, it will be an occasion for mourning and togetherness; but for a few, it will mark an opportunity to be seized.”

During this storyline, Erika Slezak’s character enters the equation, who will offer an unexpected link to the Qs, and “…. mysterious ties to others on the canvas.”
Nathan West’s Return?

While Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) did pass away in 2018, much like his sister, Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Theibaud), it looks like he may have miraculously survived.
Korte and Van Etten state that with Paevey’s return, “a huge new mystery and romantic chaos all around.” Plus, Anna will be the most impacted, as the writers state, “Twin miracles — the returns of Britt and Nathan — feel more like twin omens to Anna. To her mind, there’s only one person who could’ve saved them both from death — Cesar Faison. Anna’s fall is about learning the truth behind their survival. But the more questions she asks, the closer she is to danger.”
Speaking of returns, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) will also play a massive role in storylines this fall.
The GH co-writers note that Charlotte will be ‘very useful’ to anyone who wants something from her Papa, “… and she knows it.”
In addition, revelations will unravel where Valentin is concerned in the months to come, which has him agreeing to an unlikely alliance in order to secure his freedom.
Sonny Corinthos’s World
Over to Sonny, Jenz Sidwell (Carla Rota) will continue to be a threat to his empire and will use tactics other than violence to bring the mob boss down.
Plus, the flirty “thing” happening between Sonny and ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) will continue to heat up.
Finally, a character that has a “nose for trouble” could be the one to blow up the little Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) secret between Ava Jerome (Maura West), Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Who will figure things out? Only time will tell.

Romance Complications
Across town, Korte and Van Etten promise that a trial will upend the lives of Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), as well as Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and Isaiah Gannon (Swandi Wilson).
Meanwhile, Britt will likely return to PC, but fans should expect some mixed emotions from residents of the little town.
The writers state, “This story will play out for some time to come, drawing in assorted Quartermaines, Falconeris, Spencers, and Corinthi. Maybe even a Cooper.”
So, it sounds like Brad Cooper (Parry Shen), Britt’s BFF, will make a splashing return, too. If Britt returns, it’s safe to say that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will save both the good doctor, along with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Vaughn (Bryce Durfee).
This means that Jason will learn that Joss is a WSB agent, so how long before Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) finds out? The writers do offer this about her and Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) romance, if and when Carly finds out he recruited her daughter into a life of danger: “Men who cross Carly pay the price.”

Valentin is back! yes!!! Sorely missed that charming and talented fellow!
Yuck! There is no need to bring Valentine back! Charlotte is his only real connection, and we haven’t seen her in months. Didn’t miss either one of them. It’s bad enough to bring back the most boring character, Nathan, who has been “dead” for years and mostly forgotten, played by an “actor” who didn’t get famous in prime time, so he comes crawling back. I hope his acting has improved, but Hallmark standards don’t seem to be very high, so I doubt it. I’d almost rather watch Drew….
