When General Hospital viewers first heard about a body buried in Croton several months ago, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was responding to something his father Mike Corbin (Max Gail) said. Mike said to Sonny, rather out of the blue, “I know about the body in Croton!”
This started Sonny on a saga of worry and at times, downright paranoia that his dad might say something about the body to the wrong people, and he could be tied to the murder. Sonny’s initial story to Jason, as they prepared to take a trip to Croton to move the body, and while they were digging, was that he was young and green, maybe seventeen or eighteen years old and this had been his first job for Joe Scully Sr (Robert Miano).
Scully had asked Sonny to dispose of a body and the gun he had used to kill the man. It would be very uncharacteristic of Sonny to make up a story to Jason about killing someone, since Sonny’s never had to worry about Jason betraying him to any authorities. And yet, in recent episodes, Sonny not only admitted to Jason that he HAD been the one who murdered DA Margaux Dawson’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) father Vincent Marino, Jason didn’t say a word to him about why Sonny had changed his story!
Mike’s got Croton on the mind again, West Coast. What is it about that place that’s keeping a hold on his memory? A brand-new #GH STARTS NOW on ABC! pic.twitter.com/fttS1dintB

Of course, when they went to dig up the body they had no idea that Mike already had, and moved it; that reveal came much later. GH fans could certainly understand if Mike had witnessed the murder and didn’t remember the whole event, only remembering seeing where Sonny buried the body and gun and digging them up and burying them elsewhere to protect his son.
After all, Mike has Alzheimer’s disease…it would have made sense for Sonny to change history to keep from upsetting his father! But, as mentioned before, he wouldn’t have to change any stories to Jason!
There is a phrase used in scriptwriting and television or movie production called a “continuity error”. Usually this is a minor event such as a character wearing two different sets of clothes in one scene, or two different hairstyles or cuts. Sometimes this is simply because two parts of the scene are shot separately and someone wasn’t thinking ahead or film editors failed to pay proper attention.
Other continuity errors involve scriptwriters and differences in scenes of one episode of a show, which make characters appear to call another character by two different names, for instance, and somehow no one notices (except detail-oriented viewers)! But to change a storyline from a character being an accomplice in a murder to being the murderer, all within six months or so, is a HUGE continuity error on the part of GH.
With all the very public confusion of GH fans as to why Sonny started with only burying the body and now being written as the murderer, we can only hope the powers that be at the show will notice and write a story to explain this! Keep watching GH and checking General Hospital spoilers frequently to see how GH writers get themselves out of this sticky situation!
