General Hospital viewers were shocked when news broke this week that Kirsten Storms was suffering from a mental health crisis.
The rumors about Kirsten Storms’ state of mind have been floating around for a while, but her ex confirmed them when he was issued a restraining order this week.
Fan fave Brandon Barash shares a daughter with Storms, and a judge he agreed the actress shouldn’t be around their daughter Harper right now.
Is Maxie Jones Leaving General Hospital (Again)
Ironically, Kirsten Storms JUST returned to General Hospital last month when her character Maxie Jones woke up from her coma. Storms left the soap opera last year and revealed that she had suffered a brain aneurysm.
After a nine month hiatus, Maxie came back to Port Charles and fans thought the actress’ issues were a thing of the past. That’s clearly not the case though.

General Hospital spoilers reveal the writers have Maxie Jones involved in a lot of big storylines this summer.
Maxie will do battle with her bestie Lulu Spencer (Alexax Havins) over dating Nathan West (Ryan Paevey). But, Maxie also will be needed in Nathan’s big reveal now that we know that he is an impostor.
Is General Hospital Searching For A Recast
It doesn’t sound like Kirsten Storms’ issues will go away any time soon. In fact, her friends and family are pushing to get her in to a treatment center and that would mean even more time away from the soap opera.
Per reports about Brandon Barash’s restraining order, Kirsten’s ex accused her of abusing drugs and hallucinating.

The court documents also reveal that Storms is currently couch surfing and can’t hold down an address. It’s also unclear how much of the actress’ issues could be related to her brain aneurysm.
Regardless of what is really doing on with the star, the odds of her being able to keep filming amidst all of her personal drama are slim to none.
The General Hospital writers are really in a pickle, because they JUST brought Maxie Jones back to town.
It would be absurd to send her away again or put her in to another coma. The only logical course of action at this point is for TPTB to start shopping for a recast.
In the past Molly Burnett, Jenn Lilley, and Nicole Paggi have all replaced Storms. So far the actress hasn’t addressed the rumors about her leaving the soap, but it’s definitely time to start considering a replacement. If Storms is as unstable as Brandon Barash claims, there’s no way she’ll be able to keep filming.
What do you think about the reports about Kirsten Storms’ mental health? Do you think the soap will replace her with a recast or send Maxie off the canvas again?
