Carly has been on a rollercoaster for months and had just married another man. Suddenly, Sonny has returned home and is promising that he won’t leave again. Carly was quick to remind Sonny that he cannot say that for sure. Is that tombstone in that cemetery a vivid reminder that Carly is right? Is Sonny afraid that he will end up gone for good the next time his life is placed in danger? Is Sonny struggling with the fact that he has almost died twice in the past nine months?

As many times as General Hospital’s Sonny has been shot, he still believes he is invincible. Sonny doesn’t want to face the fact that he could die at some point. Sonny’s two latest near-death experiences have shaken Sonny to the core. Sonny’s father has come to him twice and saved his life, will it happen again? Will Sonny die the next time he gets hurt? Can Mike always be there to send Sonny back home where he belongs? Sonny realizes that he puts his life in danger daily. Has Sonny’s time as Mike given him a new perspective? Is Sonny beginning to see that Carly is right about the future?

Deep down, Sonny could be longing to return to the simple life that Mike had in Nixon Falls. Will Sonny be content to return to his life as a mobster or does he want more?
