General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Sparks Fly Between Sam McCall And Dante Falconeri While Bonding Over Sonny Tragedy

General Hospital Spoilers – Sam McCall Has A Past With Sonny Corinthos

Longtime General Hospital viewers will recall that Sam has a past with Sonny. In fact, she became romantically involved with him a long time before she and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) got together. The two of them met when she came to town looking for “The Dead Man’s Hand”, which was a set of cards that Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) thought could save his father’s life. His father ultimately died but Jax and Sam had teamed up. They became lovers for a short time until he found out Sam was only competing with him for the cards, and he dumped her quickly.

Then she met Sonny, and even though he was already married to Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and had two kids, Michael and the late Morgan Corinthos (now Chad Duell, Bryan Craig) she became his lover. They had a child together, Sam’s first, a little girl named Lila McCall but unfortunately Lila was stillborn. Carly and Sam were rivals for years and only comparatively recently have become friends.

Sam and Sonny had remained close friends on General Hospital, though their relationship has not been romantic for many years now. Still, Sam is deeply affected by the presumed death of Sonny, and since she has broken up with Jason, she, too, could use a friend who she can commiserate and grieve with. It looks like that person will be none other than Sonny’s oldest son, Dante Falconeri.

GH Spoilers – Dante Falconeri Has Two Losses, Although Not Both To Death

After a period of time, which will likely not be long, Sonny will have to be presumed dead. In real life, that process could take up to seven years, unless the situation of presumed death was something like a plane crash with no body found, as the case is with Drew Cain (Billy Miller). In Sonny’s case, Jason as well as others in the area including law enforcement saw the bridge collapse under Sonny and his body has not been found, nor any identifying items that may have come off of his person while in the river.

General Hospital spoilers show Dante has two losses – the presumed death of his father, and the indeterminate coma of his ex-wife Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan). Dante wanted to help with the search for Sonny but Carly stopped him – she said he needed to be with his son Rocco Falconeri (O’Neill Monahan) in the absence of Lulu more. Dante agreed. Dante gets plenty of help from his mom, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) with Rocco but being friends with your mom and leaning on her isn’t quite the same. He could use a companion, not a romantic one, but a platonic one who is going through something similar. That would be Sam.

She understands loss and uncertainty if a loved one would ever come back home – she has experienced that with both Jason when he was presumed dead, and Drew, who is still presumed dead as well. Now she’s going through that experience with Sonny. Both Dante and Sam have children. Danny Morgan (Porter Fasullo) is a little older than Rocco, but they could play together and Scout Cain (Ella Ramacieri) could be included, and Leo Falconeri (Aaron Bradshaw) too. It is easy to see that Dante and Sam have many things to bond over, and not just the presumed death of Sonny!
