General Hospital spoilers revealed that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) exited the show and ended up at a burn clinic after a fire at the penthouse. It was a way to get rid of the character who opted to leave the ABC show. Ahead of the upcoming episodes about the fire, a content warning was issued in light of the devastating LA fires.
General Hospital Cares About The LA Fires
Chad Duell leaving could have gotten a nicer exit than catching fire as Michael Corinthos. After all, he only left because he wanted to sort out his life and work on becoming a better person for his family. That news emerged via several podcasts, one of them with Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos.)
General Hospital doesn’t seem too worried about traumatizing ABC fans with their own fires, but it seems that execs are worried about the LA wildfires. Just minutes ago, ABC News reported that “Five fires are burning around LA County, prompting sweeping evacuations.” And, one of them has erupted “in Hollywood Hills.”
General Hospital Issues A Content Warning
On January 98, @generalhospitalabc issued a content warning on Instagram. It came because of the devastating LA fires that are still ongoing.
The content warning for General Hospital said:
OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO EVERYONE AFFECTED BY THE FIRES CURRENTLY RAGING IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY.
IN LIGHT OF CURRENT EVENTS, TODAY’S EPISODE OF GENERAL HOSPITAL (AND SEVERAL THAT FOLLOW) MAY PROVE TOO DIFFICULT TO WATCH FOR SOME.
PLEASE KEEP THIS IN CONSIDERATION PRIOR TO TUNING IN.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
While ABC probably mean well, some fans of the show do not see it that way.
The LA Fires Are Traumatizing, Fans React
General Hospital fans took to the comments section to have their say about the LA Fires and Michael Corinthos. Here are some of those opinions:
- You should never have showed Michael on fire. Disrespectful to viewers who loved him. Tasteless.
- This storyline, regardless of todays horrific headlines in California, is an absolute disgrace. For most of us, GH has always been a respite for our everyday lives. Love in the afternoon we used to call it. Now my go to show is nothing but tragedy…
- It was a horrible, horrible storyline for Michael to begin with. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Do better!
- This storyline is beyond disturbing.
