General Hospital spoilers confirm that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is set to return to the canvas during the Monday, July 13 episode.
CTS has the details surrounding his explosive comeback, and we’ll take a trip down memory lane to talk about where he’s been and all that has changed since he’s been gone, not to mention what’s to come.
Jason Morgan’s Release From WSB Custody
Jason exited the canvas during the March 25 show when he was hauled off by the WSB for seemingly shooting WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
Of course, Jason was just protecting Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), the real shooter. Last fans heard, the WSB had locked Jason in a prison in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Still, just this week, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) impressed WSB head honcho, Z (John Oliver), by killing Cullum. In addition, Joss provided a statement that claimed Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) was the mastermind behind the cold fusion project, and Cullum died a hero.
This was to prevent embarrassment and shame to the WSB for his corrupt ways, and in return, Joss struck a deal with Z and asked for the release of Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Jason.
Valentin came back to the little town during the July 6 episode, but fans will have to wait until July 13 for Jason’s arrival.
Jason’s Shock – Oh, How Things Have Changed!
Jason will be a little taken aback when he returns home. First and foremost, his bestie, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), is in a romantic relationship with Valentin.
Plus, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Rocco are at odds because Danny learned the truth about Jason protecting Rocco.
He resented his ‘brother from a different mother’ for not telling the truth so his dad could be released.
When Jason returns, he’ll learn that Cullum is dead, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) is behind bars, and it turns out the man who helped him cover up Rocco’s guilt, “Nathan West” (Ryan Paevey), was exposed to be his twin brother, Cassius!
There’s also the news that Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) is back in town, working for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Plus, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) has gotten much closer to the mob boss, which could rub Jason the wrong way.
Last, but not least, Jason will be thrown for a loop when he realizes Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) never had Huntington’s disease.
Jason Has Changed – What’s To Come
General Hospital spoilers for Jason’s return reveal that things won’t have only changed in Port Charles … but Jason himself will come back a changed man.
In fact, GH Head Writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten revealed during a summer preview that Jason’s imprisonment, “… has had a profound effect on his outlook, and how he intends to conduct the rest of his life.”
Will he now be working for the WSB? Fans will have to tune in to find out!
