General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that Lucky Spencer will look a tad different in the days to come, as starting Tuesday, February 18, actor Guy Wilson will be temporarily recast in the role, taking over for Jonathan Jackson. More details, below.
GH’s Lucky Spencer – Temporary Recast
According to Soap Opera Digest (SOD), Wilson will appear as Lucky for only a ‘handful’ of episodes. Jackson has already gone back to shooting with the soap and will return to shows later in February. F
ans may recognize Wilson from his time on Days of Our Lives (DOOL), where he was recast in another legacy role, Will Horton. He was on the Salem soap from 2014 to 2015.
Not Wilson’s First Time At A GH Rodeo
This latest recast will be the second time Wilson has appeared on GH. Long-time fans may recall that he played a teenage version of Lucky’s late father, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) in March 2006, during some fantasy scenes where Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) daydreamed about how things would be if the two met when they were younger.
Interestingly enough, Wilson has some things in common with Lucky: Wilson is a musician, and he also has a parent who’s a mayor – his father is the mayor of Sebastpol, CA, the town he grew up in.
This also isn’t the first time fans have to adjust to a Lucky recast. Jackson entered the role at 11 years of age in 1993 but then exited in 1999.
The Bold and the Beautiful’s Jacob Young (Rick Forrester) was the first to step into Lucky’s shoes from 2000 to 2003, and then DOOL’s Greg Vaughan (ex-Eric Brady) was recast in the role from 2003 to 2009.
Jackson returned in 2009 to 2011, then made a brief appearance in 2015, and had a splashing comeback in August 2024.
He is currently trying to reunite with his long-time love, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), as they also try to bring down the vile Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
