General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that in Port Charles, NY Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) doesn’t die, it’s just a near death experience in a future episode of General Hospital. He meets Cameron Webber’s (William Lipton) birth father at the door to the afterlife, Zander Smith (Chad Brannon) and Zander sends him back to take care of Cameron!
General Hospital Spoilers – Cameron Webber Never Met His Birth Father
Longtime General Hospital viewers will remember that Cameron has never met his birth father. Zander Smith was killed in a shootout before he was born. He didn’t even know that Cameron’s mother was pregnant. Zander was Elizabeth’s first love, and she was only a teenager. They had two one night stands and Cameron was conceived during the second one. Zander had been a drug dealer working for Joseph Sorel (Joe Marinelli), who was one of the enemies of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
It was Elizabeth who had tipped the Port Charles police to Zander’s location when he had been hiding out, and had kidnapped Emily Quartermaine (Natalia Livingston). Zander was mentally unstable, and he was bad news! He also worked for Faith Rosco (Cynthia Preston) who was another one of Sonny’s enemies and involved in drug trafficking and the head of the Rosco crime family. Zander’s father was Dr. Cameron Lewis (Lane Davies) who was a psychiatrist at General Hospital, and who Cameron Webber was named after. Zander knew his father, who aided and abetted him at times in his criminal activities. He had abandoned his son after his older brother Peter Lewis (uncast) was killed in a hunting accident and he had blamed Zander for it. Years later he had come to Port Charles after Zander had run away from home and Cameron had been assigned to be Zander’s therapist; thus the reunion of father and son.
GHSpoilers – Franco Baldwin “Dies” But Is Sent Back
A possible insider leak has explained what happens and why Zander Smith returns, which is definite. Chad Brannon filmed the scene or scenes in February and they will air sometime in March. Speculations abounded regarding the return of Zander Smith, but since the news first broke it is definite that it is only a guest appearance not a return to the General Hospital canvas. Franco has two possible death scenarios – from his brain tumor, which is not responding to radiation, or Franco being killed another way – such as by Jason Morgan, (Steve Burton). Franco had requested that Jason kill him if he became dark and dangerous, although Jason hadn’t exactly said yes or no. When Franco was startled by Cameron waking him up and tried to choke him that could certainly constitute “dangerous”! He even told Elizabeth he felt he should move out! There is a third possibility also – that Franco and Elizabeth could get a second opinion and the tumor, considered inoperable is removed but Franco could die on the table.

General Hospital viewers will recall that after Franco’s head injury at The Floating Rib, Dr. Lucas Jones (Matt Trudeau) was able to remove part of the tumor. Franco and Elizabeth were going to try to get a second opinion from Dr. Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson), who removed his first brain tumor but they never got to California. This possibility would make more sense with a scenario where Franco dies but is sent back from the door of the afterlife, as happened with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) when Mike Corbin (Max Gail) came to give him the will to live. Something very similar may happen with Franco, the brain tumor having been removed but he codes on the operating table (he dies, his heart stops) and the medical team gets him back when in his experience, Zander appears to him and tells him to take care of his son! Otherwise, if Jason shoots him and he dies that way, what happens with the brain tumor? A misdiagnosis?

I would stop watching GH if Franco dies. He is the one person that attracts me to the show. He is caring and loving and we need more of that in this time of pandemic when we are faced to deal with our lives alone. We also need something light and happy not so dark as death with a tumor. I know your trying to be realistic but we need less reality and more of a reason to go on.
Happy If Franco lives . Happy if They bring Todd Manning back .
DO NOT WANT HIM TO LEAVE GH —EVER!!!!
I agree with you there need more love in the afternoon not drama
I like Franco
and please don't bring Nell back from the dead
Absolutely. He must get better and not die
Yes I don’t want him to leave the show love Roger
I do not want Franco to leave this show!! He is a great Actor and plays a wonderful part!!
I agree ☝️
I would be thrilled. I love franco. He must live, and go back for Cameron. Cameron and the boys need him, more then he knows, and he needs them too. He loves those boys. Liz needs him too, but Cameron needs him most.
Yes yes yes he’s to good on the show to let go
Do not kill off Franco we all love him and Elizabeth.
Amen to needing more love not constant drama with story lines causing death or so many problems to the characters. Realize drama is needed but the percentage of drama vs. happiness could be penned more spread out instead of constant doom/gloom.
I don't want to see this family dynamic broken!! The boys need a steady man/father in their life! Franco has won them over Cam loves him!!! Let's keep the family together!!!
Exactly
Will always be Lucky. Oh how I wish Jonathon Jackson would come back!
STUPID
um maybe do some fact check before writing an article?… calling zander elizabeth's first love? saying she was a teenager? it was an attraction and one night stands and she was an adult.. lucky was her first love.
I definitely agree with you – even though the person chosen to apparently be Liz's forever partner was Franco which was questionable at the time, Franco has proven himself to be good for both Liz and the boys. At this point in time, I believe they portray the best family unit in PC. They both know they want to be together and would do anything necessary to keep their family unit together. Why should writers tear down the good they have done with this story line other than the fact that they can which is a really bad decision.
Or Greg Vaughn!!
Jonathan Jackson lives in Ireland now
No, no. Please no.
