Bringing back Ryan was the brainchild of General Hospital co-head writer Chris Van Etten. He realized that the Ryan Chamberlain murders and the wave of popularity in true crime stories have led him to believe that this storyline would be a massive hit. And the best part is that no one really knows what to expect.
Apparently, when Lynn Herring, who plays Lucy heard about Ryan’s resurrection, she said, “I was thrilled for Jon because he plays the part so well – well, both of them, Kevin and Ryan! I was excited for him to have that acting challenge because he really deserves it. He does such great work and I think he’s going to be just awesome. I’m excited to see him do that character now because as time passes, your maturity as an actor develops. And he’s excited, too, which makes me happy. I think the audiences will just eat this up, even the people who didn’t see the storyline 25 years ago, because it’s got great suspense. I think they’ll write it really well.”
