General Hospital Needs To Bring Spencer Cassadine Back As A Recast ASAP – Here’s Why

General Hospital (GH) spoilers remind fans that Spencer Cassadine’s (last played by Nicholas Alexander Chavez) exit storylines in early 2024.
He had an incredible love story with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), but when he was presumed dead after taking a tumble off that cruise ship, along with Esme Prince (Avery Pohl), Trina was forced to move on.
With that said, should the show bring Spencer back as a recast? Considering recent developments, many fans believe they should!
A Body Was Never Found
It’s important to point out that Spencer’s, along with Esme’s body was never found. Of course, everyone assumed neither individual could survive the accident they were in, so they were declared dead shortly after the incident. Still, this left a window of opportunity for a Spencer return.
Trina mourned Spencer for a long while and just recently opened her heart back up to someone new. While things were dicey between Trina and Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) at first, they eventually fell in love.
Kai’s a good young man with excellent morals, who truly loves Trina; however, it seems like a recent move of his will likely blow up their relationship.
Trina has warned Kai about Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), but despite this, Kai continues to fluff off her concerns. He believes Drew to be a good man.
Unfortunately, Kai overheard Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) scheme to find Jacinda (Paige Herschell) and pay her off to say Drew willingly took the ketamine he claims was slipped into a drink of his.
Sadly, Kai recently betrayed Trina and her family by warning Drew about what he had heard instead of keeping his mouth shut.
A Once-In-A-Lifetime Love
GH set up Trina’s romance with Spencer as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ love. While Kai and Trina do make a cute couple, they still don’t exactly measure up to this standard.
Plus, Spence would never betray Trina or her family the way Kai just did! Trina is certainly headed for heartache once the truth comes out, so is this a signal that GH should – or will – bring Spencer back? They could easily recast the character, as Nicholas Chavez’s schedule is clearly jam-packed with other things!
It’ll be a blow for Trina to learn what Kai’s done, but if Spencer returns, he’ll definitely help ease the pain. Would you like to see this happen? Join the conversation below!

They are one of the worst and most boring couple GH have put together! Watching paint dry is more exciting!! Kai reminds me of a love sick preteen! I hope they don’t drag out the fact that Kai told Drew what he heard and that Trina goes off on him big time! He needs to go to DC with Drew and Willow! I think I most of us would love to see Alexander Chavez come back.as Spencer but since that obviously won’t happen just please bring a recast in for Trina and get rid of the little boy she’s with now!
Here we go another recast I think sooner or later they will replace everyone and then why watch, they are ruining the show I have been watching since the beginning at age 6, I understand some have passed but are and should be honored.
The recasts really make me sick and sad!
I would love Spencer to come back but I’d be unhappy with a recast as their chemistry was off the charts.
I was happy had Kai as she’s been so lonely but man he did the unforgivable. I couldn’t believe that went down. Trina is going to go nuts and she doesn’t deserve that.
I agree. It is way past time to bring Spencer back. I also find it funny that you believe Trina and Kai are in love. I haven’t seen anything on the show that would convince me that they’re in love. Trina and Kai may care about each other but they are far from being in love regardless of what you and the writers want us to believe.
Yes, bring Spencer back. Although he has problems as well as everybody else does he love Trina and I don’t think you’ll find that type of love and most living things..
With Kai, he has proven that he’ll sell tree his family down the river so he can get ahead so he can get back to playing football. His number one goal is playing football. How’s that work? If you’re supposed to be in love with a girl friend he says he loves so yes, definitely bring. Definitely bring Spencer back. He’s needed.
Bring Spencer back even as a recast. He is much better than Kai. How dare him betray Trina’s trust.

I enjoy the character of Spencer Cassidine, but not for Trina. I didn’t see any chemistry between them, bring him back for Laura or let him be found and make sure that he has substance goals like college a business and not just a rich brat.
I have been watching GH since Luke, Laura and the disco. There have been many recasts. Some worked out, some didn’t. I am all in for a Spencer recast. Kai doesn’t make the bells and whistles go off with Trina. He is too staid. I like his character. Not for Trina. We need a love triangle story. This is the first boyfriend Trina has had since Spencer. Recently, I was upset about the recast for Michael. However, new “Michael” has won me over. I look forward to seeing how his character grows.
All right my fellow SPRINA FAN’S. It’s time for the powers the that be to recast Spencer our girl deserves better than what she’s been given. Yes Kai is a nice guy but him Trina don’t have that spark, so let us put a collective heads together and start thinking of young actors who could possibly come on board to take on this role. We need to let our voices be heard.
