General Hospital’s John Reilly who played WSB agent Sean Donely has died. Reilly played Sean from 1984 to 1995 with occasional guest appearances on the legendary soap.
General Hospital News – John Had An Extensive TV Career
General Hospital’s Reilly began his tv career in the mid-1960s with guest appearances on shows such as Gunsmoke with James Arness who played Matt Dillon. In 1974 John joined As The World Turns as a recast Dan Stewart. John enjoyed several tv roles before joining the Dallas cast in 1983. After his 11 year run on General Hospital, John went on to play Del on NBC’s Sunset Beach during its three year run from 1996 to 1999. In 2005 he played Alistair Crane on Passions. Reilly was a much-loved actor whose fans always wanted back on their GH screen.
GH News – Shawn Butler And Tiffany Donely
General Hospital’s Sean was a good friend of super spies Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). Sean and Tiffany Hill married at the Quartermaine mansion in 1988 among friends and family. In 1991, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) poisoned Tiffany and she lapsed into a coma. Sean teamed up with Robert and Anna to bring down Faison after this. Sean and Tiffany have a daughter named after Anna Devane. Sean last appeared on G.H. in 2013 for the 50th anniversary.
General Hospital News – John Reilly’s Daughter Broke the News
Caitlin Reilly broke the news of the General Hospital star’s death in her heartfelt Instagram post. “The brightest light in the world has gone out. Imagine the best person in the world. Now imagine that person being your dad. I’m so grateful he was mine. I’m so grateful I got to love him. I’m so grateful I made it in time to hold him and say goodbye. I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do, but I know he’ll be with me. I love you forever Daddy.” In comments, Finola Hughes said, “Oh, Caitlin, I am so sorry, He was indeed the best. The kindest person, most generous and loving actor. Most supportive man in every way. Please send my love to Liz and to your family.” There are also loving comments from others on the post as well including one who refers to Reilly as their on-screen dad.

I remember those golden days. I enjoyed seeing John Reilly back on GH a few years back. I hoped he might stay awhile. So sorry to hear about his death. I am happy to hear he was a good man and a great father. My condolences to his family.
So sorry that’s he passed away he was a good actor I remember him on passions but I don’t remember him on GH speaking of why they want to take everything away from people some are not good yes but do they deserve that chance hell yea they do no matter what people nothing they can say that can change it I will give somebody a black eye and they don’t leave my people alone stop talking about them I want my story writers give it to me right fucking now I am not violent but I will be if writers don’t give me my fucking story and stop fucking playing with me involved NA fuck that give me my damn story I deserves one after all these damn years
