Some actors and actresses who began their careers on soap operas avoid mentioning that part of their careers once they hit prime-time TV or film.
But not Amber Tamblyn. From TV talk shows to Twitter, this actress has repeatedly shown her love for her experience on General Hospital, pointed out GH News.
The popular soap opera gave Amber the opportunity to shine in 1995 when she was only 11 years old. Portraying Emily Quartermaine until 2001, Tamblyn has shared that she cherished her role as the adopted child in the famous Quartermaine family.
And she’s emphasized repeatedly that she continues to appreciate what she learned and the cast.
General Hospital News – Amber Tamblyn Shares Love For GH TV Dad Stuart Damon!
Recently, General Hospital alum Amber Tamblyn headed to Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens” talk show. During her appearance, Amber discussed GH and her love for her former co-star, Stuart Damon.
Damon portrayed Tamblyn’s TV dad, Dr. Alan Quartermaine, on General Hospital and the Port Charles spin-off show.
Christopher Damon, son of Stuart, revealed that his father had struggled with renal failure, per the Hollywood Reporter.
Sadly, the beloved actor passed away at 84 after having starred for three decades on General Hospital. But his affection for his role on the soap opera may account in part for Amber’s fondness for her experience.
Damon’s son, Christopher, revealed that the General Hospital set “was his favorite place to be. He loved playing Alan and was always so appreciative of that role and that job. It was his passion.” And as Amber shared on Cohen’s “Watch What Happens,” that passion proved contagious!
Tamblyn feels that the General Hospital cast kindly helped her to feel at home and like another member of their star-studded family.

In the wake of getting experience on General Hospital as Emily Quartermaine, Amber Tamblyn soared to prime-time stardom in the lead role on “Joan of Arcadia.”
Her portrayal of central character, Joan Girardi, who talked to God in different forms, earned Tamblyn both Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. And her success had just begun.
In addition to that TV role, Amber portrayed a young medical student, Martha M. Masters, in the hospital drama “House” starring Hugh Laurie. The young actress also starred as Jenny on the sitcom “Two And A Half Men” for two seasons.
