In an interview with Soaps In Depth, McCoy shared that the similarities of the onscreen mother and daughter are obvious. “They’re both very opinionated, go places they shouldn’t, and have very powerful energy,” she said.
General Hospital Star Eden McCoy Opens Up
Since McCoy has been on “General Hospital” since 2015, she said that pretty much everything she knows on the job she learned from Laura Wright. Watching and performing with Wright over the past three years, McCoy has adopted Laura’s tendencies.
“I’m my own actor and my own person, but I’ve adopted her character into mine,” McCoy added. “I’ll see edits online comparing us, and I didn’t even realize I was doing that! And it’s really cool, because that’s exactly what the show wanted when I started.”
Meanwhile, McCoy said that Josslyn is undeniably her father’s daughter and she sees a lot of Jax in her. “Jax, like Josslyn, sees the best in people. He’s very forgiving and just wants to go surf,” she said. “Not that Carly isn’t nice… but she’s a mama bear. She’s been around. She doesn’t see the best in people, she sees the reality of people. And she holds more of a grudge.”
And while Carly and Jax are quite the opposite of each other, McCoy said that Josslyn is a perfect product of their combination.
Josslyn is now at the spotlight as her boyfriend Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt) is battling cancer. Oscar is given a month to six weeks to live, and it looks like his death is inevitable.

Save Oscar. Need robin. Terrible to have him die. There is crazy. They are so cute together.
I thought they were going to let Joss and Oscar marry and spend one night together and then Oscar would have his last attack and die in Joss’s arms. That would have been a beautiful a la Romeo and Juliet- star-crossed lover – sort of ending. To have him linger in a coma in the hospital while everyone streams in to say goodbye is very disappointing.
I can’t believe this is happening really fast. But at least she will have memories to cherish with Oscar from the past, look at it that way
