When the phone starts ringing during his interview with the publication, the handsome actors tells ABC Soaps in Depth, “That’s just my wife. Her ringtone is a duck because when I played golf she would call me while I was on the course. My phone ringing in my golf bag would distract somebody in the middle of their swing and they would get mad. So now, she is a duck. I don’t know when I’m going to play golf again, but if the phone rings it will just sound like a duck or a goose going by. That way, nobody gets distracted! It’s perfect.”
And while John, who is also a grandfather, has a pretty busy life these days, his obligations at home and with his family is not one of the reasons why he’s no longer on the golf course. Instead, it might be more because of his score and his swing.
John added, “Let’s say I stopped because I stink. I’m a lousy golfer. I did shoot 69 once. I broke pay one time. And it was the only time. I was pretty good for a while but I was never great.”
