But the handsome actor says that the role didn’t come without some hesitation on his part. While there’s no doubt that John Stamos is a very talented actor, both on and off screen, there are some things he would rather not do in front of the camera, like actually dribble a ball!

Hoping that his character would be something like a lawyer, John was surprised to hear he would be playing a basketball coach. He told the publication, “My heart sunk because I am so bad at sports.”

The good thing though is that John soon found out that there was really nothing to be worried or stressed out about with this role. When he found out that he would be a basketball coach and not an actual player, he said, “I’ve never been much of a sports guy, and I sort of panicked when I heard it was about basketball, but I dug into that part of it as much as I could. I went to a rehearsal with former L.A. Laker Jerry West. I guess they call it a practice, but I call it a rehearsal. I was looking for a way to play an adult character that had layers and wasn’t just you know, light and fluffy. That’s all in here. It’s one of my favorite jobs I’ve ever had.”
