General Hospital News: Risa Dorken Is Headed To Primetime!

“General Hospital” star Risa Dorken is set to make a guest appearance on CBS primetime drama “Life In Pieces” this week. Dorken, who is known for her role as Amy Driscoll on GH will play as Elle on the show’s June 13 episode titled “Four Short Fairy Tales.”

According to the synopsis, “When Tim gets a toupee, the family tries their best to hide their horrified reactions. Also, Jen fights for face time with her boss when she returns to work after maternity leave; Joan decides to retire but gets cold feet; and Greg and Matt build a playhouse for the kids.”

“Life In Pieces” is currently on its fourth season and is fronted by Dianne Wiest and James Brolin. The show centers on the life of one big family and their different milestone moments as told by different family members. Season four, which will be the last, consists 13 episodes and revolves around the introduction of a few new family members, dealing with a health problem, and the revelation of several hidden family secrets.

Dorken debuted her character Nurse Amy Driscoll in May 2016. Some “General Hospital” got a bit confused with Dorken’s role especially those who watched the show during the 1980s. Her role Amy Driscoll was confused with a nurse Amy Vining, which was portrayed by Shell Kepler. They are two different characters, but they share some similarities. Both nurses are spunky and have a knack for hospital drama.

Amy Driscoll was first seen onscreen talking to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and viewers eventually discovered that the two went to high school together. Driscoll, who also went to high school with Dillon, experienced a bit of drama back then when she wanted to join the cheerleading squad, but Maxie wanted something different for her.

Apart from working as a nurse, Amy also writes for “Ask Man Landers,” which is an advice column. What started as a way for her to earn extra cash became the reason she got a book deal. She then enlisted Nathan to be the face of her book. They both spent a lot of time together and fans noticed their chemistry. As they grew closer, Nathan started to have marital problems with Maxie.

Nurse Amy has since been on an off the show since then. Dorken is currently on a recurring role and viewers may recall that she took care of Franco after he got stabbed by Ryan. Fans are hoping to see more of Nurse Amy on “General Hospital” but while she’s away, they can catch her on the Thursday episode of “Life In Pieces.”
