General Hospital News Update: Kimberly McCullough Shattered After Race Through ‘Apocalyptic Smoke’

ABC General Hospital spoilers reveal that Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio Drake) has been personally affected by the dozens of wildfires currently burning in the state of California.

On Wednesday, August 19 she tweeted, “So, I and my family drove back from Cambria today. We were supposed to go to Big Sur, but I had nightmares that kept me up all night, and I made the call to not go to Big Sur and lose a lot of money I spent on a rad hotel for us.”

Cambria and Big Sur are in northern California and both are huge tourist destinations.

General Hospital Spoilers – Kimberly McCullough And Her Family Had A Scary Experience

She continued, “I woke up this morning to learn that Big Sur is on fire, and Highway 1 is closed. Driving back through apocalyptic smoke was hard — especially because our 3-year-old son was confused as to why we couldn’t stop or roll the window down.”

No doubt the experience was scary and discomforting but thankfully Kimberly and her family are safe.

She continued, “This is real, people. My nerves are shot, and I keep thinking about all of the animals who may not be able to make it out safely. Please think good thoughts for the people in the area and have a “go bag” if you live in Ca. Much love to you Cali. It’s hard to see you like this.”

Her fans were quick to respond with support and tales of their own. One wrote, “It’s terribly scary and sad. We were evacuated once, and very close to it a second time. A “go bag” is a must and hope you never have to use it. Wishing for the best for everyone, and special blessings to the firefighters.”

Another fan said, “I’m right there with you, my nerves are completely shot. Going through this year after year is just too much.”

California has been a tinderbox in recent years due to hot temps and low humidity plus terrain that has been dried to a crisp by lack of rain. It’s good news to hear that the Emmy Award winner is safe and that her family was not endangered by the fires ravaging the state.

Kimberly no longer appears on the ABC sudser but her character is there in spirit. She has been mentioned this week especially as the Nurses Ball takes place in support of HIV and AIDS research.
