General Hospital: Ryan Paevey (Nathan West)ABC General Hospital spoilers and updates divulge that  GH alum Ryan Paevey, the actor who used to play Nathan West, is in the middle of a very serious situation and he is raising the warning flag for his fans.

On Monday, the General Hospital alum and Hallmark star shared a message to his fans about a dangerous scam taking place and it is trading off of his name.

This week Paevey took to his Instagram with a very serious warning for his loyal fans. According to Paevey, there is someone impersonating him online. This person has convinced people that they are talking to the hunky star via direct message. This is not the case however and fans should be alert to this scam.

Unfortunately, the person or persons perpetrating this ruse are not just impersonating Paevey, they are also soliciting money from unsuspecting persons.

GH Spoilers – Ryan Paevey Wants You To Be Aware Of An Online Scam Using His Name

He posted this for fans: “Little PSA because social media can be an awful place sometimes. I only have one Instagram account, this one, and no chat accounts or anything like that….that’s the way it’ll always be. Be careful guys and gals, lots of weirdos out there…and @instagram is completely inept or doesn’t care (likely the latter) when it comes to safeguarding the public from situations like this, or helping me have them removed once i find out.”

Ryan did fans a solid by letting them know how to tell if a celeb account is the real deal or not: On Instagram look for a blue check next to the name of the celebrity to verify that it is legit.

General Hospital Spoilers – Ryan Paevey Is Watching Out For His Fans

According to Ryan, if a celebrity asks for money for a charity, they are going to give as much info as possible. In addition, he says that it is highly unlikely they would individually message people.

Apparently the person pretending to be him has tried to get people to send them money. Sadly, one of his fans nearly fell for the believable scam.

In fact, one fan shared that one time they almost gave money to a scammer. This individual was pretending to be an actor, although they did not say who. Paevey said, “no one you’ve seen on television is going to contact you privately asking for money. Ever. PLEASE do not give strangers on the internet money.”
