General Hospital Preview: Chase Fights For Willow & Gio Walks Away From Sonny

Chase steps into Willow’s latest battle as Stella offers some much-needed advice. Meanwhile, Sidwell hints that his plans have suddenly changed, and Gio stands firm against Sonny.

General Hospital Preview Friday October 9:  Chase’s Battle, Stella’s Advice, Sidwell’s Plans

General Hospital spoilers and updates for Friday, October 9 tease Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) joining a battle, while Stella Henry (Vernée Watson) gives advice. Plus, Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) plans may have changed!

Chase’s Battle

Key Takeaways

  • Chase offers Willow his full support
  • Monet keeps Jordan in the dark
  • Stella urges Portia to focus on family
  • Sidwell hints at changing his plans
  • Gio stands his ground with Sonny

At the gatehouse, Chase encounters Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), where he jumps into the fray. He urges Willow to accept his support in standing up for herself.

Following Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) bombshell exposé, Chase will probably encourage Willow to fight back over the damaging story.

The article’s headline alleges that Willow administered a paralytic substance to her husband over an extended period!

Naturally, Willow refutes the accusation, despite the fact that the incriminating details almost certainly originated from one or possibly two highly credible sources.

It appears Sidwell abandoned restraint when he revealed this sensitive information, while Lulu got even more damaging information from her interview with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison)!

Of course, Willow and Chase’s growing connection has already raised questions about where their relationship is headed.

What’s Monet Got Up Her Sleeve?

While Monet Mitchell (Blythe Howard) visited Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) in his hospital room, she dropped a shocking revelation: she’s Jordan Ashford’s (Tanisha Harper) sister.

Both Curtis and Chase have already retained her legal expertise, and Monet confidently asserts that Jordan remains unaware of her true capabilities!

Yet Jordan likely has some inkling of what Monet can do; otherwise, they wouldn’t be at odds with each other.

The timing of Monet’s disclosure is particularly intriguing. She chose to unveil her connection to Jordan only after Jordan departed for Baden-Baden.

One has to wonder: What exactly is Monet plotting?

Stella’s Advice

Meanwhile, Stella rallies Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), emphasizing that what young Desmond “Des” Ashford (Yireh Aviah Lafond) truly requires at this moment is the presence of his loved ones!

Portia recently arranged a prison visit for him to see Curtis, but that meeting came just before Curtis suffered a brutal attack that landed him in the hospital.

Stella’s focus, however, centers on the infant’s emotional needs.

His grandfather Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) would likely be equally eager to shower the child with affection if he’s around.

The reality is that Des’s family needs him just as desperately as he needs them!

Sidwell’s Plans

At the hospital, Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) checks on Sidwell, who cryptically remarks, “As you know, plans can change.”

Isaiah’s facial expression noticeably shifts, displaying clear dissatisfaction with whatever his former adversary is implying. It becomes evident that suspicion weighs heavily on his mind.

What could Sidwell possibly mean by such a statement, especially considering he remains hospitalized and is still recuperating from the brutal assault he endured and the serious cardiac event he suffered?

Could Sidwell be quietly orchestrating some kind of elaborate escape plan for when he eventually becomes well enough to be transferred back to Pentonville?

The mysterious nature of his comment certainly suggests there’s more to his recovery than meets the eye, leaving viewers to wonder what scheme might be unfolding behind the scenes.

Interestingly, Sidwell’s possible hospital escape has already been the subject of speculation, making his latest remark even more intriguing.

Gio Is Determined

Over at Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) residence, the atmosphere grows tense as Sonny visibly reacts negatively to Gio Palmieri’s (Giovanni Mazza) choice.

Gio firmly asserts that this is his own decision, and he’s committed to it.

Having concluded that living with Sonny is no longer viable, Gio and Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) have begun their search for apartments where they can build their life together.

Gio’s expression hardens with resolve as he communicates his decision to Sonny.

While Sonny attempts to offer words of comfort and encouragement, Gio remains unmoved and resolute in his choice.

Sonny finds himself wounded by what feels like yet another betrayal, as even Gio appears to have abandoned him.

Annemarie’s Take

I think Gio is going to regret turning his back on Sonny before he knows the whole story. Sonny didn’t order the Pentonville attack, and once the truth about the setup finally comes out, Gio may realize he judged him far too quickly.

What do you think? Is Gio making a mistake by walking away from Sonny? Let’s discuss it in the comments below!
