‘General Hospital’ Recap January 29: Jason Rescues Britt, Kissing Cousins, Nathan & Surprise Romance

General Hospital recaps for Thursday, January 29 reveal Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) rescued a freezing Britt Westbourne, (Kelly Thiebaud) while his son Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) became kissing cousins!

Plus, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) and Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) kissed, and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) got new understandings of each other.

Molly Got Good News-Sort Of!

Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) opened up to Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) after getting some good news-sort of!

Finally leaving the bedroom, Molly looked for her phone in Cody’s living room, wanting to check her emails before heading home. (Make sure to check out our weekly GH spoilers, here!)

Looking outside, Cody mentioned that they were now snowed in; unable to find her phone, Molly turned on her laptop and gasped in surprise at one specific email.

When Cody asked what excited her so much, Molly felt embarrassed but eventually revealed that she had written a western romance book, her first since publishing books before law school, but just as a creative outlet.

However, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) had secretly submitted the manuscript to her former literary agent, and the agent had just emailed saying she loved the story.

Cody Got A Sneak Peek At Molly’s Novel

Even though her agent saw potential for a multi-book deal, Molly preferred to keep her writing as a hobby. Taking her hands, Cody told his girlfriend that it sounded like she was a fantastic writer and he was eager to read her story.

Changing the topic, since she didn’t want Cody to know he inspired her hero, Molly playfully said she couldn’t wait to get back into his cozy bed.

Later, Cody came back downstairs to find that Outback had knocked Molly’s laptop and bag off the table and slobbered all over the bag.

As he picked up the items from the floor, he noticed the manuscript for Laredo Sunrise, and unable to resist,  sat down by the fire to read her novel.

Tracy And Martin Continued Bickering

Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) poured Martin Grey’s (Michael E. Knight) bourbon into Scout Cain’s (Cosette Abinante) thermos, causing a fight over the heirloom decanter.

Martin threatened to throw her out into the storm, leading to a discussion about their family issues—Laura Collins (Genie Francis) evicting him and Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) evicting Tracy multiple times.

Tracy then asked why Martin took his anger out on her, and he grumbled that she ruined his life by ending his relationship with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring).

Tracy laughed, saying Lucy was no big loss, which angered Martin further. He claimed Lucy was the best thing in his life until Tracy convinced him she was cheating with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), leading him to end things based on that lie.

She Told Him So

Tracy pointed out that he found Lucy with Scott in the end, saying he was better off without her since she was like his three ex-wives who took his money.

Martin scoffed that his love life was not her concern and accused the divorcée of knowing nothing about love. Tracy put down her argument and said it took her years to realize Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) was her true love.

Martin asked if it bothered her that his sister was Luke’s true love, but Tracy said Luke’s past with Laura had nothing to do with her love for him.

She added that their relationship was not easy, but their past heartbreaks helped them see each other clearly and honestly.

Tracy Gave Martin Some Advice

Tracy gave Martin honest advice. She told him that  he wouldn’t have a lasting relationship until he saw the woman he loved for who she truly was, not who he wanted her to be.

Martin then noted that Tracy’s pain from losing her love was why she was lashing out at others.

Feeling the impact of his words, Tracy shifted the focus back to Martin, who admitted he was open to finding someone special.

When Tracy joked that he was an easy target, Martin laughed and said she might be right, but he was still brave enough to risk his heart.

Jason Rescued Britt

After finding Britt frozen and shivering, Jason took her some warm shelter close to  Spoon Island. Shivering under a blanket, she said she had rented a private boat to Wyndemere but got caught in rough waters and feared for her life; hearing Jason on his boat gave her hope.

As she tried to warm up, Jason wrapped her in a blanket and held her close while she changed out of her wet clothes.

Once she was warm, Jason asked Britt to trust him and let him help her. She finally confessed that she was forced to finish her father’s last project, or ‘they’ would let her die from Huntington’s disease-Jason pressed her to reveal who ‘they’ were.

Danny And Charlotte Took Shelter In The Quartermaine Gatehouse

With the snow too deep to get through the woods to Carly’s, Danny and Charlotte found shelter in the gatehouse, which had been empty since Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and the kids moved to the main house.

Once her phone regained a signal, Charlotte noticed several messages from her mother and replied that she was at the Qs with Danny.

Then, Danny gathered the ingredients for s’mores, but Charlotte mentioned that she never understood the excitement around the messy treat when they made them at Lila’s Kids.

Given how chaotic her life had been lately, he encouraged her to “embrace the mess and enjoy the sweeter things.”

As they kept talking, he shared how he had been kicked out of Lila’s Kids for going on a solo adventure into the woods.

Danny And Charlotte Became Kissing Cousins

He added that these days, he tries to be relatively safe with his activities, but sometimes he enjoys taking risks and trying new things.

Charlotte responded that she felt pressured to be “normal” because no one wanted to hear about her speaking four languages or knowing where to find the best pizza in Italy, as it reminded them of her father.

Danny then expressed that he could sense his aunts and grandma worrying that he was becoming more like his dad, and sometimes it felt like they didn’t trust him to be responsible.

Charlotte pointed out that he had been responsible by bringing them to the gatehouse, knowing the storm was worsening and they wouldn’t have made it to Carly’s.

With a smile, Danny remarked that it was one thing to take risks with his own life, but another to do so with hers. Later, after they enjoyed s’mores,

Charlotte leaned over to wipe chocolate off Danny’s face, which led to them sharing their first kiss.

Danny And Charlotte Became Kissing Cousins

He mentioned that he tries to stay safe these days, but sometimes he likes to take risks and try new things.

Nathan And Lulu Continued Bonding At Bad Jen Café

Nathan turned the power back on at the Bad Jen Café while Lulu messaged Charlotte to stay at the stables. She was relieved to hear Charlotte was at the Quartermaines’ but frustrated that it took so long for her to check in, putting everyone searching for her at risk.

With Nathan’s car stuck in a ditch and knowing Charlotte was safe, they decided to stay the night at the café. While looking for blankets, Lulu found liquor instead, and they played ‘two truths and a lie.’

During Nathan’s turn, Lulu thought his lie was knowing the periodic table by heart, but he surprised her by reciting it.

Nathan And Lulu Kissed

When she asked how a detective knew that, Nathan said his dad made him learn it as a kid, drilling him daily. Confused, Lulu mentioned that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) told her Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros)  was the favored child and that his father ignored him because he was adopted.

Nathan explained that his businessman father pushed him into physics and chemistry, hoping it would help the family businesses-but when Nathan could only memorize information, his dad lost interest.

Nathan smiled when Lulu called his dad an idiot for not seeing how great he was, and joked that her compliments made him sound like a Boy Scout.

When Lulu said she didn’t know what she would have done without his help, Nathan covered her hands and said he wanted to be the man she saw, then leaned over to kiss her!

Valentin Stubbornly Refused Not To Go Out Looking For Charlotte

Concerned that Charlotte was lost in the snowstorm, Valentin chose to search for her, even though Carly urged him to stay. She gave him a warm coat and a flashlight before he left, but Carly missed Lulu’s text saying Charlotte was safe until Valentin had already gone.

After putting on boots and a parka, she went out to find him, but he was still on the patio. Once back inside, Valentin exclaimed he couldn’t find Charlotte, prompting Carly to share Lulu’s message.

With a sigh, Valentin admitted he feared his daughter might die out there, and Carly joked that at least Charlotte was smart enough not to go out in the storm, unlike her father.

Valentin And Carly Got New Understandings Of Each Other

When Valentin shared that he couldn’t see well enough to reach the tree line and hated giving up the search, Carly asked how he thought Charlotte would feel if he died looking for her.

Mentioning Carly’s hat and boots, Valentin questioned why she was risking her life to find him, to which she replied that she understood the pain of losing a parent and a child. If she were in his position, she wouldn’t have waited to know her kid was safe.

She also admitted she had always thought he was “thoroughly reprehensible,” but changed her mind after seeing his panic when he couldn’t reach Charlotte.

He wasn’t who she thought he was, Carly said, and Valentin responded that she wasn’t who he believed her to be, either.
