‘General Hospital’ Recap Monday, March 9: Valentin & Carly Caught, Brennan Warned Josslyn, Maxie Tells Dante All

During the latest GH, Valentin and Carly are caught in the action, while Brennan warns Joss, and Maxie spills the beans to Dante.

General Hospital recaps for Monday, March 9, reveal Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) barges in on Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).

Meanwhile, Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) warned Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) told Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) that Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) and Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) were dating.

Key Points

  • Jason catches Carly and Valentin, post-bed romp, and he advises Carly to cut ties with Valentin. Carly refuses, and their talk starts off heated, and ends on a softer note where they both understand each other’s perspective.
  • Brennan warns Joss about Cullum – while Joss fills Brennan in on their interaction during the PC blizzard.
  • Valentin pays Joss a visit while Carly is talking to Jason and warns her that he’s not leaving PC and committed to protecting her mom.
  • Sidwell pays Willow a visit and let’s her know who’s in charge. He also advises her that Scout must move back home with her dad, or else she’ll look like a “wicked” stepmom.
  • Alexis brings Scout over to visit Drew, and when the child asks if he’s okay, he blinks, once – much to Scout’s delight.
  • Willow tells Alexis that Scout needs to move back home with Drew – much to Alexis’s shock.
  • Charlotte is welcomed by Nina to Crimson as the magazine’s newest intern.
  • When Brennan visits Nina at Crimson, he warns her to find out about where Valentin is, or else he’ll expose the street camera footage of Willow driving around Drew’s neighbourhood the night of his shooting, which wouldn’t be a good look, now that she’s a congresswoman.
  • Maxie tells Dante (accidentally) about Lulu and Nathan … right before the twosome were going to tell him themselves. Dante looks upset, but says very little.

Jason Morgan Barges In

AMP in the post

The morning after the night Carly and Valentin spent together, they both realized their actions had been impulsive and had further complicated their already intricate relationship.

Given that Carly was still technically involved with Jack, albeit only to undermine him, Valentin found himself pondering whether her decision to sleep with him stemmed from genuine desire.

Or was it merely a means to inflict pain on Jack?  Carly, suggesting that it was a mix of both motivations, leaned in to kiss him.

At that very moment, Jason made his entrance into the bedroom through the door that Carly had just opened moments before, having been informed by Josslyn that Carly was concealing Valentin.

Carly yelled at her best friend to leave so they could get dressed, prompting Jason to retreat into the hallway.

Besties Clash

General Hospital recaps for Monday’s show note that Valentin made a lighthearted remark that if their situation was complicated before, it was undoubtedly more so now.

Carly then called Jason back into the room and requested that Valentin grant them some privacy. Once the two best friends were alone, Jason confronted Carly, expressing his disapproval of her alliance with Valentin.

She retorted that it had been her idea to collaborate with Jack’s most formidable adversary to rescue Josslyn from the WSB.

When Jason pressed her about whether she had assisted in Valentin’s escape from Steinmauer, Carly disclosed that she had indeed suggested the transfer to Jack.

But she had no inkling that Valentin would flee until he unexpectedly appeared at her house on the very day of his escape.

Carly Spencer Has Her Say

Frustrated that she hadn’t shared anything with him, Jason urged Carly to sever ties with Valentin before he put her life at risk. However, Carly countered that Jason was also hiding things regarding Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) peril.

He explained that it wasn’t his secret to disclose and that bringing her into it would be too risky.

Carly retorted that he had already involved her by mentioning Josslyn’s situation with the WSB. She pleaded for space to manage the issue, but Jason feared she was in too deep.

Carly’s Blame

The conversation shifted to Josslyn’s anger towards Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and her decision to join the WSB to take him down.

Carly blamed herself for the dangerous situation Joss was in, feeling her choices had negatively impacted her daughter. She lamented her failure as a parent, believing the only way to atone was to rescue her daughter.

Once more, Jason urged Carly to cut ties with Valentin, promising to assist her, but she maintained that she needed Valentin’s connections; moreover, he was committed to Britt, and she didn’t want to interfere.

Carly then stated that they each had their own struggles to face, and for once, it wouldn’t be Jason and Carly against the world-he reassured her it still would.

Jack Brennan’s Warning

While working out in her apartment, Josslyn remembered finding out that her mother had been keeping Valentin hidden in the attic.

Brennan arrived to inform her that, as per Britt, Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) was Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) partner on the project she was involved with.

Jack instructed Josslyn to stay under the radar, mentioning that he had removed her file from the WSB database to prevent Cullum from learning she was an agent.

He warned that the WSB director was a double agent.  He warned her that if he figured out they were onto him, Cullum would eliminate them both.

Josslyn Jacks Sassed Back

General Hospital recaps for March 9 confirm that Josslyn retorted that if Jack was truly worried about safety, he should end things with her mother to keep Carly out of danger.

Jack reassured her that he would do everything possible to protect Carly, but he wanted to avoid any hasty actions that might alert Cullum until he had solid evidence.

He then expressed relief that Cullum had no reason to suspect her involvement. Finally, Josslyn shared her encounter with Cullum at Wyndemere during the blizzard with her boss.

She also revealed that she had discovered a copy of Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) book and a pack of his favorite cigarillos in the man’s coat.

Jack Came Down On Josslyn For Recklessness

Jack criticized Josslyn for her reckless actions, warning that it would hurt Carly if something happened to her; “Says the guy who brought me in,” Josslyn shot back.

Jack expressed that he wished he could change the past, revealing that he cared for Carly more than anyone else, and he was trying to avoid a double tragedy. He warned her not to get herself killed before leaving.

Later, Josslyn stepped out of the shower to find Valentin on her couch, holding her gun. When she told him she wouldn’t report him, Valentin laughed, saying she had already talked to Jason.

Josslyn’s Rookie Mistake

Claiming that her intentions were purely to look out for her mother, Josslyn urged Valentin to vacate the town. He countered by explaining that the situation involving the Sidwell’s was on the verge of spiraling out of control, and should he leave Carly’s side, her safety would be significantly compromised.

With a scoff, Josslyn retorted that Valentin was inflating his own significance in the matter.  In response, he set her gun down on the ottoman and suggested that perhaps she relished in repeating rookie mistakes.

He was referring to the naive errors of not fully appreciating the capabilities of her adversaries.

The Davis Girls Bond

Before taking Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) to see Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) had breakfast with Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) at the Surf Lodge.

Kristina inquired if her mother believed Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) was aware that she was in the running for the congressional position. But Alexis thought not, as Willow hadn’t mentioned it during their conversation about visitation plans.

Alexis was concerned that it might be hard for Scout to see Drew for the first time since his stroke and felt relieved that Scout was staying with her, given that Willow already had a lot to deal with.

She remarked that she could accept losing the congressional seat because it allowed her to spend more time with her granddaughter, and Kristina commented that Alexis would have been a better congresswoman than Willow.

Jenz Sidwell’s Threat

General Hospital recaps for Monday, March 9 note that after hearing mixed signals from Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Councilman Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) about donor advice, Jenz visited Willow to remind her that she owes her success to him and should follow Ezra’s example.

When Willow agreed, Sidwell laughed, saying he wasn’t trying to control her as Drew did, and she would have full freedom in her administration, as long as it aligned with his plans.

Jenz then told Willow to bring Scout back inside, as it made her look like the wicked stepmother keeping Drew from his child. Willow argued she was acting in Scout’s best interest, but Sidwell insisted that having her home was best for both of them.

In fact, he warned her not to disappoint him before leaving. Next, Willow brought Drew into the living room for his visit with Scout and urged him to set aside his feelings for her to ensure a good visit with their daughter.

Scout Quartermaine Visits Her Father

Alexis came with Scout, who was frightened to see her dad in the wheelchair; Alexis encouraged her granddaughter to talk to Drew, who blinked in reply.

When Scout asked if he was okay, he looked at Willow, then back at her, and blinked once. Excited that he said “yes,” Scout celebrated his progress, but Alexis reminded her it would take time.

Willow took Drew to his bedroom, and Scout went to her own room. Alexis wanted to plan Scout’s next visit and was surprised when Willow said she wanted Scout to return home.

Nina Reeves Welcomes A New Intern

At Crimson, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) told Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) that she would train the new intern while with Willow in Washington, D.C.

Just then, Lulu came in with Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke), who had just learned about the internship that morning. Nina welcomed her former stepdaughter warmly, but Charlotte kept her distance, saying she didn’t want to distract Nina from her work.

After Lulu praised her experience as a Crimson assistant and Nina expressed excitement about Charlotte joining, Charlotte changed her mind and thanked Nina for the chance. Nina asked Jacinda to show Charlotte around the office.

Charlotte Cassadine Plays The Part

Once they left, Nina tried to tell Lulu that Charlotte was acting, but Lulu said she knew Charlotte was playing them. She thanked Nina for taking Charlotte as an intern and was surprised when Nina said she was glad Lulu was dating Nathan.

On her way out, Lulu stopped by Jacinda’s desk to tell Charlotte she could start right away since she had the day off from school. As Lulu warned Charlotte to behave, the teen rolled her eyes. She didn’t seem exactly appreciative of the opportunity.

Nina Busted Charlotte

Later, Nina told Charlotte she knew she was manipulating them. Instead of resenting the babysitting, she should see the internship as an opportunity to demonstrate her responsibility to her mom.

When Charlotte complained about her mom’s lack of trust, Nina reminded her of how scared Lulu was when Charlotte went missing, as she had misused that trust.

Charlotte then remembered overhearing Jack tell Nina to get her to reveal what she knew about Valentin. Back in the moment, Charlotte looked at Nina and agreed it was terrible when someone betrayed your trust, making you doubt everything about them.

Kristina Corinthos-Davis Needs Help

General Hospital recaps reveal that Jacinda was at her desk when Kristina came in, looking for something to wear for Charlie’s Pub reopening; soon, Jack showed up, wanting to see Nina.

Jacinda told him Nina was busy, but Jack barged into her office, prompting Nina to ask Charlotte to leave. After giving Kristina an outfit from the sample closet, Jacinda helped her choose shoes, leaving the reception area empty when Charlotte returned from the bathroom.

While Charlotte listened through the slightly open door, Jack said that Charlotte working at Crimson would help Nina get Valentin’s location.

Nina replied that Valentin was probably gone. Jack insisted he had reason to think otherwise and warned her he could bring back the traffic cam footage of Willow if she didn’t get him info on Valentin through Charlotte.

PCPD Drama …

At the PCPD, Nathan told Dante he hadn’t found any record of Delilah (Lily Cardone) yet, but they decided to keep looking. Dante asked Nathan how he was after Maxie picked Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson).

Nathan said he was fine, and Dante offered to buy him a beer if he wanted to talk. Nathan left the commissioner’s office without mentioning Lulu.

Soon after, Maxie arrived, and Dante apologized for not visiting her sooner. Maxie joked that things must be awkward because of Nathan and Lulu.

Dante was confused; feeling bad for telling him, Maxie said she came to sympathize and praised Dante for handling the news better than she did.

Maxie Jones Fills In The Gaps

Even though she chose Spinelli, it was hard for her to see her best friend with her ex-husband, Maxie admitted, and thought Dante felt the same.

Meanwhile, Lulu met Nathan at the Surf Lodge to update him on her talk with Maxie. He admitted he could have told Dante earlier, but didn’t, feeling bad since Dante was being a good friend.

Lulu decided they should tell Dante together, thinking it would be easier than telling Maxie. She noted Dante was still in love with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).

When Nathan and Lulu arrived at Dante’s office, they were surprised to find Maxie there and learned Dante already knew they were dating.
