Lulu Tried To Get Willow To Drop The Lawsuit

In the Quartermaine kitchen nook, Lulu attempted to persuade Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) to abandon her libel lawsuit.

Willow agreed, provided that Lulu publish a comprehensive retraction.

Lulu declined and cautioned that proceeding to trial would raise numerous questions regarding Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).

Willow bristled at how the article had damaged her reputation and vowed to inflict similar harm on Lulu.

As Celebrating The Soaps previously reported, Chase encouraged Willow to pursue a defamation lawsuit against Lulu.

Joe arrived in the kitchen to speak with Willow, who sarcastically asked whether the PCPD was finally prepared to assist her following her mother’s arrest.

Lulu And Joe Compared Notes

Instead, Joe pressed Willow for information about Jack Brennan’s disappearance.

A dismissive Willow denied every claim in the article and blamed Lulu for the PCPD’s investigation into her before departing abruptly.

Subsequently, Lulu maintained to Joe that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) had been coherent during their conversation, and she possessed the recording as evidence.

As they discussed Jack and Drew’s strokes, Joe resolved to conduct a more thorough examination of Brennan’s activities before his disappearance.

Monet Advised Curtis

Monet stopped by to see Curtis at General Hospital, where they strategized about his upcoming appeal.

She believed that securing a compelling interview, one highlighting how Curtis heroically rescued Sidwell during the violent incident at Pentonville, could sway public perception in their favor.

With positive media coverage, she reasoned, judicial pressure would naturally follow.

Monet planned to pitch Aurora for exclusive rights to the story, but since Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) were both away in Germany, Curtis recommended that she approach Drew instead.

However, he cautioned her to stay vigilant. The ex-congressman had a reputation for betraying people’s trust.

As Celebrating The Soaps previously explored, Monet’s sudden involvement in Curtis’s legal troubles has raised questions about her motives.

Willow Arrived And Told Curtis Spring Ridge Was A No-Go

When Willow arrived, she delivered disappointing news: the governor wasn’t responding to her calls.

This made Curtis’s transfer to Spring Ridge highly improbable.

Monet seized the moment to criticize the governor for likely avoiding Willow following The Invader’s recent exposé.

She then declared that she and Curtis needed to distance themselves from Willow immediately.

After Willow left, Monet had a sudden insight: keeping Curtis at Pentonville could benefit their strategy by allowing them to emphasize the compelling hero-in-peril narrative.

Josslyn Was Reprimanded

At the WSB Field Office, Acting Chief William Baines (Alimi Ballard) reprimanded Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) for pursuing Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) through JJE against his orders.

Josslyn countered that Baines had also directed her to focus on running JJE, explaining that the pier acquisition served that purpose.

Though unsatisfied with her reasoning, Baines warned her that failing to abandon her JJE cover immediately upon command would have consequences.

He then addressed allegations from The Invader article concerning Brennan’s disappearance.

When Josslyn inquired about a WSB paralytic drug, Baines cryptically stated that the bureau would issue a denial of the drug’s existence.

He also indicated that they needed to investigate Congresswoman Tait’s involvement further.

Sonny And Ric Strategized To Reclaim The Piers

While Sonny and Ric strategized to reclaim the piers, Sonny stipulated that he wouldn’t target Josslyn directly.

Instead, they pivoted to pressuring Hudson, Josslyn’s second-in-command, by having Ric uncover compromising information to force him out of the company.

As Soap Opera Spy previously reported, Sonny and Ric were already preparing to fight back after Josslyn’s aggressive move against Sonny’s business interests.

Separately, Hudson encountered Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) at Volonino’s, where he offered sympathy regarding Chase’s failed marriage and custody complications involving Phoebe Chase (Luna and Lucia Creighton).

Chase lamented his inability to provide the stable family life he and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) had hoped for.

Hudson reflected that life remains unpredictable, and outcomes rarely align with expectations.

Ric Bugged Hudson’s Briefcase

Mac Scorpio (John J. York) arrived and introduced himself to Chase, encouraging him to take the next detective exam.

Chase declined, prioritizing his family, though Mac assured him of future support.

Ric informed Hudson that Sonny had canceled his gym membership, sparking tension among the men.

Then Josslyn arrived to meet Hudson and insisted that she, Ric, and Sonny accept losing the piers to JJE.

Overhearing the dispute, Mac pulled Josslyn aside and shared cautionary advice from his own experience confronting Sonny.

He warned her that pursuing a vendetta against Sonny risked damaging her relationships.

Meanwhile, Ric planted a listening device in Hudson’s briefcase while Hudson showered.

Ric then eavesdropped as Chase and Hudson discussed Hudson’s animosity toward him.

Ric subsequently reported to Sonny that their scheme was underway.

Annemarie’s Take

I think Willow is making a huge mistake by pushing ahead with this lawsuit. Lulu has a recording of Sidwell, and a trial could bring even more attention to Willow’s involvement in the whole mess.

As for Josslyn, Baines couldn’t have made his warning any clearer. She’s putting her WSB career at risk because she refuses to leave Sonny alone.

And Ric bugging Hudson’s briefcase? That’s a sneaky move, but it could give Sonny exactly the ammunition he needs to turn the tables on JJE!
