‘General Hospital’ Recap Thursday, July 9: Chase’s Shocking Discovery, Willow’s Panic, Liz’s Theory & Sidwell’s Revenge Plot

General Hospital recaps for Thursday, July 9  reveal Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) interrogated Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), while Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) were suspicious.

And in the Port Charles Police Department jail’s visiting room, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) confronted Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper).

Chase Interrogated Lucy

At the Metro Court pool, Lucy was on the phone with Serena Baldwin (Kelly Kruger), when Chase asked her about the statement she gave to the PCPD regarding Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen).

Chase thought Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) had influenced Lucy, but then she mentioned being at the Quartermaines’ with Brook Lynn before Charlie’s Pub reopened. He started to suspect Brook Lynn was behind Lucy’s statement.

His suspicion grew when Lucy said she and Brook Lynn agreed that, due to the chaos with Deception after Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) collapse, it was best for Lucy to take charge. Then she told Chase it led Brook Lynn to transfer half her shares.

Tracy Confronted Brook Lynn

Meanwhile, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) confronted Brook Lynn with the same suspicions-Brook Lynn defended herself, saying she only wanted to make Willow look bad to Chase, not get her into legal trouble.

When Brook Lynn said it was Lucy’s idea, Tracy asked why she didn’t come to her for help.  Brook Lynn replied that Tracy would have told her to leave Chase, insisting she loved her husband and was fighting for her family.

Tracy then asked what Lucy wanted in return, and was hurt to find out Brook Lynn had signed over half her Deception shares-shares Tracy had given her to run the company together. “I just hope this house of cards you’ve built doesn’t come crashing down on you,” Tracy warned.

Lucas And Liz Were Suspicious

Lucas was still nursing his hangover at Elizabeth’s place when she checked in at work and discovered that Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) had been discharged from Turning Woods.

They found it strange that Jack had recovered so swiftly from his stroke and locked-in syndrome, especially since Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) had shown no improvement with the same condition.

Liz speculated whether there might be an environmental factor in the house that was hindering Drew’s recovery.

She noted that he was being cared for at home. Although it seemed like a stretch, Lucas believed they should inform the county, and Liz resolved to discuss her theory with Willow.

Willow Consoled Nina Over Cassius’ Death

Willow consoled her mother following the death of Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey), while Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) grappled with the deception surrounding his identity as Nathan West (Ryan Paevey).

As their discussion shifted to Drew’s situation, Willow expressed her anxiety about her husband regaining mobility, especially since she was nearly out of the paralytic.

They hoped Jack could provide evidence that Drew had misused federal funds, so they invited him over.

However, upon Jack’s arrival, he delivered disappointing news: the black box containing the evidence was missing from his office, and he suspected that Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) had taken it.

Willow Found Herself In A Predicament, Wondering How To Keep Drew Silenced

Willow found herself in a predicament, pondering how she could possibly prevent Drew from betraying her and Nina, especially now that she had no leverage and had exhausted her supply of paralytic.

Jack halfway sarcastically suggested that Willow finish Drew off! Meanwhile, Jack was deep in thought, theorizing that Cullum may have relocated the black box to Spoon Island, perhaps to keep it within easy reach.

Just then, Elizabeth pressed the doorbell and was taken aback to find Chief Brennan in conversation with Nina and Willow. “I can hardly believe my eyes seeing you upright,” Liz exclaimed, her surprise evident. “And especially in this place.”

Martin Went To Talk To Curtis Before Agreeing To Represent Him

Before agreeing to represent Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) wanted to discuss the assault case details. Curtis insisted he wouldn’t accept a plea deal, as he aimed for a not-guilty verdict at trial.

Martin cautioned that a judge might not accept Curtis’s provocation argument. Ultimately, Martin believed Curtis’s story could persuade a jury, especially with Jordan testifying, but it was a significant risk.

Curtis was ready to take that chance because he couldn’t bear spending his baby’s early months in prison.

Sidwell Confronted Jordan

Sidwell asked to meet Jordan at the PCPD;  he questioned why she revealed his safe house to the police.

Jordan admitted she had been undercover for SRE Worldwide, gathering evidence against him. Jenz had initially been wary of her, but Jordan’s charm won him over, and he appreciated her role as the attractive public face of his criminal operation.

Despite her betrayal, Sidwell offered to fund surgery at the same German clinic that treated Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) if Jordan would go to Zurich and clear out some bank accounts for him.

When she declined, a furious Sidwell threatened to make her regret her decision.

Sonny And Justine Met To Discuss Their Secret Relationship

In their hidden retreat above Charlie’s, Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) pondered whether anyone had noticed their kiss at the Jerome Art Gallery.

Justine expressed concern that Sidwell might have sensed something when Sonny referred to her as “Justine” during their phone call, prompting him to rush to the gallery to protect her.

When Justine revealed that she had offered the case to Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) since she was technically one of Sidwell’s victims, Sonny cautioned that Sidwell could target his niece to get to him.

Justine sighed, stating that she couldn’t be seen as giving his family any “special treatment,” and removing Molly from the case would certainly appear that way.

Justine And Sonny Continued Discussing The Pros And Cons

She mentioned that it would be inappropriate for her to be seen conversing with him. In response, Sonny inquired whether she was contemplating the possibility of ending their relationship.

Justine acknowledged that even though their romance had started as a mere dare, the occurrences at the gallery had clearly shown that their emotions were authentic.

Sonny admitted that he too was taken aback by how serious their relationship had become. Then they both vowed that they were determined not to lose each other.
