General Hospital recaps for Friday, July 31 revealed Ethan Lovett (Christian Howard) went on the run, and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) berated Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn).
Plus, blindsiding Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) as he did so, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) quit!
Key Takeaways
Ethan Lovett Went On The Run
Ethan felt a surge of panic when he saw a familiar face at the Metro Court Pool: Hudson (Troy Lennon Appel). He quickly glanced at Brook Lynn Quartermaine Chase (Amanda Setton) and Phoebe (Luna and Lucia Creighton) before bolting away.
He essentially left Ava Jerome (Maura West) behind without saying anything. After gathering his things at Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) house, Ethan informed his sister that he had found an amazing opportunity and was leaving Port Charles.
Lulu expressed her concerns about him abandoning Sonny, especially since he had used Luke Spencer’s (Tony Geary) name to secure the job.
Ethan insisted it was more than just a job; he was fulfilling a promise. Lulu agreed to back her brother, and they shared a heartfelt goodbye.
Drew Cain’s Catch Up
At the pool, General Hospital spoilers reveal that Drew settled into a lounger beside Ava, who mentioned he would need to leave when her friend, Ethan Lovett, returned.
This remark that caught the attention of the mysterious newcomer Hudson. Drew inquired if Ava had any involvement in what Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) had done to him, but since she was unaware of the details, the accusation flew over her head.
Instead, Ava praised Willow for taking care of him and was taken aback when Drew revealed they were getting a divorce. Disturbed by Ethan’s absence, Ava turned to Brook Lynn to see if she had any idea where he had gone.
Hudson Called Lulu Spencer
Brook Lynn was unaware, yet she expressed her gratitude to Ava for assisting Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) in locating Phoebe’s father.
She told her she and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) were set to sign the adoption papers the following day.
Meanwhile, the mystery man sat at the bar when a furious Ava, realizing she had been ghosted, instructed the bartender to inform Ethan Lovett that he had lost his opportunity if he decided to come back.
Subsequently, the mystery man, pretending to be from a delivery service, contacted Lulu in search of Ethan. He was annoyed when she told him that Ethan had already left the country.
Drew Berates
General Hospital recaps for Friday, July 31 note that while on duty as a pool attendant, Danny expressed his frustrations to Brook Lynn, lamenting that Drew had decided to prevent him from seeing Scout Cain (Kayden Brenna Tokarski) any longer.
Despite this setback, Danny was resolute in his intention to build a positive relationship with Scout’s father for her benefit.
Later on, as he was delivering a drink to Drew, Danny accidentally spilled it all over him. Mistakenly believing it was a deliberate act, Drew unleashed a tirade against Danny, criticizing him for his carelessness.
Just as the situation escalated, Brook Lynn intervened, fiercely reprimanding Drew for his despicable behavior and for creating such a public disturbance.
Drew Taunted BLQ
During their heated exchange regarding the Quartermaine family, Drew revealed to Brook Lynn that Willow was hoping to rekindle her relationship with Chase.
This revelation left Brook Lynn disheartened, as she realized that Drew was allowing his trivial grievances to sabotage his opportunity for a fresh start.
In response to her admonition to keep his distance from her family, Drew retorted with a sneer, asserting that the Quartermaines would face ruin by the time he was finished with them.
Needless to say, Brook Lynn will be on her toes from then on. She’ll probably warn Chase of what Drew said as well.
Jason Morgan Warned Britt Westbourne
Jason was taken aback to spot Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) at the hospital, as Tristan passed by Jason, he gave a brief nod.
Jason informed Britt that her new co-worker had been his WSB escort on the return trip from Jakarta, suggesting that Tristan might have been assigned to spy on her.
He advised her to keep this information confidential until they had more clarity; afterward, Jason asked Britt out on a date, but she had to decline due to a softball game.
Later, Britt confronted Tristan, who maintained that his presence was unrelated to her. When she threatened to reveal his identity to the board, Tristan shot back that he wasn’t an agent and that the hospital was already aware of his work at a WSB medical facility.
Jason Quit!
Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) informed Sonny that once Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) was incarcerated, his assets would be put up for auction, allowing Sonny the opportunity to reclaim Piers 55 and 56.
Eager for Jason’s assistance in regaining the piers, Sonny called him to the house and instructed him and Ric to collaborate.
Jason reluctantly agreed, and he and Ric shook hands on moving past their history before Ric left for Elizabeth’s softball game.
After Ric departed, Jason told Sonny that peace between him and Ric was impossible. He then shocked Sonny by stating that he could no longer work for him.
Lucas Jones Complained
Before the PCPD/G.H. softball match at the park, Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) expressed his frustrations to Elizabeth about his difficulties in finding an apartment.
In response, Liz suggested that Lucas consider getting a roommate. While Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) took a moment to assist Liz with her catching practice, Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) inquired about the duration of the relationship between the commissioner and the nurse.
Lucas clarified that Liz and Dante were merely friends, but he acknowledged that Joe might have noticed something that others hadn’t, adding that Dante was a better match for Elizabeth than her current partner.
Lucas and Joe then shared their woes about the challenges of apartment hunting.
Dante Falconeri & Liz Baldwin Bond
General Hospital recaps for July 31 reveal that Dante apologized to Liz for being overly intense regarding softball.
Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) was still facing issues with Danny, prompting Dante to focus his energy on the summer league instead of interfering in his son’s affairs.
Liz suggested that he give Rocco some space and humorously offered her help if he needed someone to coach. Upon arriving at the park, Ric felt a pang of jealousy at the sight of Dante and Liz together.
When equipment manager Britt finally showed up, Elizabeth scolded her for her tardiness, while Dante commended Liz for her serious approach to the game.
Anna Devane’s Unhinged Behavior
Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) expressed to her vision of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) that she couldn’t bring herself to harm Britt.
She intended to seek assistance from Valentin, but Peter argued that he was not trustworthy. When Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) returned home, she inquired about whom her grandmother had been conversing with.
Anna quickly fabricated a story about dictating case files. As they talked about Maxie Jones’s (Kirsten Storms) family relocating to Australia following the Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) incident, Emma revealed to her grandmother that she never suspected Cassius was not Nathan West (Ryan Paevey).
Emma also expressed her disappointment that Anna hadn’t told her about Josslyn being a WSB agent. However, she understood the need for secrecy.
Reassuring Emma that her family was her top priority, Anna declared that she was leaving the WSB behind and would never abandon her family again.
Emma voiced her concern that the WSB might not let Anna go easily. Anna hinted that she was planning to consult someone who could help ensure that would be the case.
Anna’s Shock
At the Metro Court Garden, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) were celebrating his regained assets.
When Valentin mentioned his intention to fulfill his promise to Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) by reclaiming Wyndemere, Carly quipped that the house gave her the creeps and she wouldn’t want to stay there.
As they raised their glasses to toast Valentin’s victory over Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna), Valentin reflected that Jack had made it too simple and suspected Nina’s involvement.
He pondered what common interests Nina and Jack might share that would draw them both to the contents of the black box. Later, Anna walked into the restaurant and was taken aback to find Valentin and Carly sharing a kiss!
