General Hospital (GH) fans are over the moon now that Spixie are back on track. It was touch and go for a while after Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) admitted that he tricked Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) into letting him move in with her. 

Anderson previously told Soap Opera Digest, “I thought back to the Nurses Ball of ’15 with Nathan and Ellie where [Maxie and Spinelli] had decided to get back together but then ultimately they were like, ‘It’s just the comfort of being together, the logic of being together because we have a kid.”

This time around he lied that his apartment was flooded, in a move to help the cash-strapped fashionista pay the rent.

She later threw him out, but cooler minds prevailed and the cute couple are back to co-habitating, albeit in sperate bedrooms, for now. Here are five reasons why we love Maxie and Spinelli together!

GH spoilers – Spixie Are Co-parents

Damian and Maxie are co-parents and as such they balance each other out like yin and yang. On the Friday June 6 episode the couple were at the Metro Court pool with their kids and showed why their personalities are a perfect complement.

Spin was splashing in the pool, while Maxie demanded they not get her wet. He gloated to the kids that they have the entire summer to lark around and fans said yes please!

Let’s face it, Spin and Maxie are a mismatch on paper. But in actuality his goofiness and her seriousness are the right balance of sugar and spice. While Maxie has been with several other men, Spin has always been devoted to his Maximista.

Speaking of significant others, it’s time for Maxie to break her habit of choosing the wrong guys. Remember Peter August (Wes Ramsey)? Who could forget the serial killer?

Then there was her ill-fated union with liar Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth). It’s definitely time for Maxie to trade up for a good man who respects her and her kids.

Life is short, and we’re happy that Spixie are throwing caution to the wind. Sure, they’re simply living together at the moment, but we have a feeling that they will make it official sooner rather than later.

GH spoilers – Spin Is A One-Woman Man

Lastly, it’s time for Spin to move on from his Jason crush. There will always be room for Stone Cold in Spinelli’s life, but this time around Spin’s whirl with Maxie feels different.

We love that both characters are getting back together at a more mature time in their lives and we’re hoping that they finally get their happily ever after!
