General Hospital Spoilers: A Routine C-Section Lands Willow in a Coma and Michael Making All the Decisions

General Hospital spoilers reveal Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) recovery from a C-section won’t be as routine as her doctors expected. When Willow coded while she was under anesthesia, it may have taxed her body and left her weaker than she would have been had she not been a mom with Stage IV Leukemia undergoing a serious abdominal surgery.

Now, Willow is in a coma, and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) is dealing with the brunt of the decision making while she’s not able to be a part of it. This is going to leave Michael in the lurch when he has to make life or death decisions for his bride-to-be and their child.

General Hospital Spoilers — The Baby Can’t Save Willow Tait After All

When Willow’s team of doctors track Michae down as he is admiring his new baby girl, they won’t bring good news. They were so confident that the stem cells from the baby’s umbilical cord and placenta would be enough to safeguard Willow’s life and get her back on the path to recovery soon. However, an unforeseen problem with the stem cells will leave Willow and her course of treatment back at square one. Michael will be devastated but he will move forward promptly asking the doctors if they can start chemotherapy while Willow is still unconscious. When they let him know Willow’s only hope is waking up and finding a bone marrow donor, it won’t look good for her.

GH Spoilers – Suggest Their Other Child May Be Able To

The doctors only pitched the idea of using the baby’s stem cells because they thought Willow might be open to it now that the baby was likely to fare well if she was born early. The premature delivery was a tough call for Willow to make, but she knew it was in the best interest of her children if she was able to buy herself time with them or potentially save her own life. However, if the baby had to endure any complications or harm from being born prematurely, Willow never would have consented to it, and Michael knows that. So he won’t feel terribly confident about consenting to it for Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) when Willow’s doctors suggest he could be a donor match.

General Hospital Spoilers — Michael Corinthos Must Choose

Michael feels pretty certain that Willow would never want Wiley to suffer any pain or fear for her sake. He’s just a little boy and means everything to her; she would never be so selfish as to make him endure a bone marrow donation procedure — even to save her life and keep her there with him. So Michael just might be selfish for her, and he could consent to the procedure for Wiley after much concern in speaking with him. The catch is that they’re running out of time and Michael needs to make the decision about the donation if Wiley is a match before Willow wakes up from the rough C-section she endured. Will she hold it against him for wanting to hold onto her this badly? Keep checking back with more General Hospital news, updates, and spoilers just ahead to find out.
