General Hospital Spoilers: Alexis Offers Legal Advice To Lucas – Will He Fight For Wiley?

General Hospital: Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes), Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis)General Hospital spoilers tease that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) will offer legal advice to Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) and help him with getting his divorce from Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) in an upcoming episode of GH!

General Hospital Spoilers – Lucas Jones Briefly Spoke To Alexis Davis Last Week About The Divorce

General Hospital viewers will recall that Lucas ran into Alexis in a hallway at General Hospital last week and briefly talked to her about help with a divorce from Brad, and she said she would be happy to help him, so this will be their meeting to get the process started.

In real life, most states have no-fault divorce meaning one only has to be living separately from their spouse for a year to be able to obtain a divorce; but considering the circumstances, Alexis may have a quicker option; Brad is in jail for fraud and kidnapping because of his involvement in swapping (or his agreement to) swap Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) dead infant for Nelle Benson Archer’s (Chloe Lanier) live one.

There is a he-said-she-said there also since Brad is actually telling the truth for a change, and Nelle is being her usual lying liar that lies and telling the tale that she passed out after giving birth and Brad swapped the babies there in the woods where she gave birth!

GH Spoilers – New York State Has Both No-Fault And At-Fault Divorce

According to Wikipedia, New York state has both no-fault and at-fault divorce options. The no-fault, of course is based on the separation and living separate of the divorcing couple, and the at-fault version can be sought for the following reasons; irretrievable breakdown in relationship for a period of at least six months; cruel and inhuman treatment; abandonment; imprisonment; adultery; divorce after a legal separation agreement; and divorce after a judgment of separation.

To use the option of imprisonment, however, Brad would have to be imprisoned for three years subsequent to the divorce. In any case, Lucas may have to wait for a year for the divorce to become final, although if daytime dramas can subject children to Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome, perhaps separation time for Lucas can be SORASED as well! Irretrievable breakdown is a given!

Daytime drama writers are not well known for sticking to real-life laws and such, however, so General Hospital fans could see Lucas and Brad divorced in a couple of weeks! There may also be other issues that Alexis and Lucas will discuss – since she also handled their end of the adoption. Lucas will want to know the process of the adoption being reversed if it even can be considering that the real Wiley Cooper-Jones has been dead for over a year and the death certificate is in the wrong name. Alexis will probably tell him that they have time on that, especially since much of the paperwork will have to be pulled and used in the court cases against Brad and Nelle!

Stay tuned to GH and keep checking General Hospital spoilers frequently for all the latest news, updates and developments!
