ABC General Hospital spoilers reveal the stunning news that not just one, but two fan fave actresses are off the show, albeit temporarily.

According to Daytime Confidential Brook Lynn Quartermaine is being recast as her portrayer Amanda Setton is going on maternity leave.

The huge announcement comes in the wake of news that the character of Sam McCall has been recast. Kelly Monaco was replaced after suffering breathing difficulties and ex Passions star Lindsay Hartley was tabbed to take her place.

General Hospital spoilers – There are two shocking recasts on the ABC sudser

Setton’s departure comes at a time when her character is in high gear, sharing scenes with Julian Jerome (William deVry) who she has the gossipy goods on. But GH fans can relax as Setton, formerly on One Live to Live and Gossip Girl is expected to return as we have not heard otherwise.

Many soap stars take maternity leave and return once they have had the proper time to bond with their newborns. Expect Setton to reprise the role at a later date. For now, there is no word on who will replace the powerhouse actress as Brook Lynn.

General Hospital spoilers – Kelly Monaco is also out at GH

Kelly Monaco’s mom took to social media to clarify her daughter’s absence from the show. According to her, Monaco had a breathing issue due to wearing the mandated coronavirus mask onset. All has been cleared up, however, as the actress is back to health and took a COVID-19 test that came back negative.

Lindsay Hartley has been tabbed to replace her and it should be interesting since this character is also on the front burner.
