It’s a real question as to why some GH viewers believe that Julian needs help when it comes to dealing with the nefarious Nelle Benson. While it’s true that Nelle has gone out of her way to blackmail Julian, the truth is that it’s entirely possible that he’s playing her. After all, Julian’s already been blackmailed by Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).

It’s not as if Julian is a stranger to handling people who are trying to use his past as leverage against him. Remember that Julian has gone along with Brook Lynn’s efforts at blackmail because, in the grand scheme of things, she’s a fly … and he’s a spider.

Then too, while Julian behaves as if he’s petrified of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) these days, the truth is that Julian might actually be relieved to get his whole role in keeping Nelle and Brad Cooper’s (Parry Shen) secret out in the open. It’s totally possible that Julian is just biding his time until he feels he’s got the drop on Nelle. Then, as the above-mentioned spider that he is, Julian will strike.

GH Spoilers – Julian Jerome Underestimates Nelle Benson

On the flip side, some believe that Julian may have entirely underestimated Nelle. GH fans have to remember that Nelle is incredibly manipulative and is a sociopath. Julian can’t believe anything that she tells him. Although Julian is likely smart enough to know all that, Nelle is usually one step ahead of even the smartest of the smart in Port Charles. Indeed, some might say that the only person who is her mental peer is Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), who after all is her sister. However, they would be wrong. The only real peer for Nelle is the masterfully suave and yet irritatingly smug, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).

Many GH viewers might agree that like Cyrus, Nelle has set up Julian and every other person in her sphere of influence on her own personal chessboard. Nelle leaves nothing to chance. If Nelle believes that Julian may turn on her (and let’s be honest, she’s likely planned for this eventuality already) then Julian’s life won’t be worth two shakes of a lamb’s tail following Nelle’s custody hearing … whether she wins or not.

The truth is, no one gets to threaten Julian but Ava. Some may recall that Ava once held Julian at gunpoint herself. However, that doesn’t mean that just anyone has the right to touch Ava’s little brother. If Ava believes that Julian can’t handle the threat that is Nelle, Ava might decide that the little tramp has gone too far and must be dealt with.
