General Hospital spoilers gush Detective Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) has been nothing if not steadfast in his commitment to the right side of the law.
Over the years, we’ve watched him weave in and out of relationships and jobs — bouncing back and forth between police departments and the WSB, never wavering in his pursuit of justice and doing the right thing.
That’s not insignificant when you have a father like Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). There is at least one, if not multiple, investigations each year that involve the metropolitan mob boss, and Dante has to turn his cheek where necessary just to make it through the day without egg on his face.
Still, he has managed not to lose the respect of his peers, or himself, and that’s because he’s never broken that promise he made to himself to honor his badge over his family.
But it’s possible that’s a promise he won’t be able to keep as the investigation into Professor Henry ‘Hank’ Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) disappearance ramps up.
Big Shoes to Fill
Weeks ago, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) got into her car, and the rest is history. We still know very little about what her situation entails. She appears to be trapped in a room like a kept doll, and it’s unclear who is holding her there. Might it be Cesar Faison (Anders Hove)?
Possibly, but the options are endless. In her absence, Dante has taken up the mantle of being Acting Police Commissioner at the PCPD, and that means he’s in the most difficult position of all as Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) seeks to compromise Sonny in every way imaginable.
GH Spoilers Spill Laura Could Be the Catalyst for Compromise
Dante might not have ever compromised himself as a cop to protect his father’s illegal motives, but that doesn’t mean he won’t find the double trouble that is looming to be too much to overlook this time around. After all, Sonny and Laura didn’t actually kill Dalton.
They just got rid of the evidence that someone else did. When he realizes this is about more than Sonny’s ability to destroy a body, and that Sidwell tried to set up the Mayor — his son’s grandmother — will Dante conspire with criminals to keep his family safe from this setup?
This Changes Everything
Sidwell wasn’t expecting to hitch Sonny to Laura’s wagon, but she hit the jackpot in his ploy to entrap the Mayor in a scandal.
He would relish the opportunity to catch Sonny’s son as Acting Police Commissioner, running a dirty investigation just to keep his pops safe. Is that likely? Nah.
Dante has always kept his hands clean, but he’s never had this much power over the outcome of any investigation either.
Further, it may be Assistant District Attorney Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) who wants to go easy on Sonny, and Dante may not push for otherwise.
Could that be used against him to dig an even deeper hole for the mob boss and his family? If Dante loses the respect of his boys in blue, will he choose to ditch his dad? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.
