Actually, this may be the sub-basement where one of the old Cassadine tunnels leads to-has Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) accidentally found Anna Devane (Finola Hughes)?
The Famous Tunnels Between Port Charles And Spoon Island
The tunnels were built during the Asian Quarter storyline by the Wu family, Brad Cooper’s (Parry Shen) relatives.
They run under the whole of Port Charles, and under the harbor to Spoon Island as well, where they run under the castle and the stables, leading to openings onto the mainland.
There are several entrances near Port Charles plus on Spoon Island, one that comes to the castle, and the other near the stables-they are also referred to as “The Catacombs”.
They were originally built for drug smuggling but they’re handy for hiding-or to keep a prisoner captive, such as when Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Anna put Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) in one.

Chances are the area where Anna has been held captive by Sidwell and Pascal (Marc Forget) is the same area where she and Robert trapped Faison-only with some improvements!
Valentin May Need To Move From Carly Spencer’s Attic
Valentin has been hiding out on Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) property, first in her shed, and now in her attic. However, he may find that he has to move, especially if Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) gets too nosy-there’s also a possibility the necklace Jack gave Carly is bugged.
Hopefully it didn’t pick up his and Carly’s recent conversations, but there is a possibility that Valentin has to find another hiding place-and what better place than the catacombs under the castle?
Valentin and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) lived in the castle along with Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and his daughter, Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) when he and Nina were married.

There were some earthquakes in Port Charles that may have partly collapsed a tunnel or two, but Sidwell could have had them repaired since purchasing the property.
Valentin Arrives At His New Hiding Place And Is Surprised-Perhaps Shocked!
In the General Hospital weekly preview that aired on Monday, December 22, the scene at the end of the clip shows Valentin, looking surprised, perhaps even shocked, exclaiming “Oh!”
The wall looks the same as the room where Anna is imprisoned, and he’s come in at a spot where there’s an outside window behind him-it sure looks like the castle!
Perhaps he’s now arrived at the one way window where people can see into Anna, but she cannot see out-perhaps Sidwell’s made a lot of changes to the sub-basement. More than likely this area is walled off from the rest of the castle, and only accessible by the tunnels.
Might Valentin be intending to hide out in the sub-basement of Wyndemere and find there’s someone already hidden there? Will Valentin’s attempted move lead to the rescue of Anna?
