General Hospital Spoilers: Austin Is the Real Bad Guy, And Nikolas Will Prove It

General Hospital spoilers leak the night that Ava Jerome (Maura West) clobbered her ex-husband, Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), over the head and thought she killed him. It was one of the worst nights of her life. Luckily for her, Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) showed up at just the right time to hold her hand and help her through it.

Since then, Austin‘s shady cousin, Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey), has infiltrated their personal business, and he’s intent to see Ava pay for her crimes — one way or another. Blackmailing her into compliance, Mason wants dirt on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and believes Ava can get it for him. Holding Nikolas’ dead body over her head is just the way to secure his leverage. There’s just one problem: Nikolas isn’t dead. He’s alive, and he knows what’s going on back home. But how can he rescue his ex-wife without putting himself at risk?

Recently, Austin divulged that he may have some burgeoning feelings for Ava. He’s attracted to her; he’s flirting with her. Boy does he have Ava’s number. How many times has a man flown into town and swept Ava off her feet with the wrong intentions? Will she always fall for the bad boy if they say the right things? It appears so. Right now, Nikolas is willing to overlook the fact that his wife is moving on without him. He just wants to protect her from Austin, whom she clearly believes it’s her friend.

Great, Nik is alive, but where is he? Might he be hiding out in the Cassadine property in Chechnya like his mother suspects? Doubtful. It’s more likely that Mason has put him up somewhere rather comfortable, on the orders of whomever his “boss lady” is.

Some fans have theorized it may be Selena Wu (Lydia Look), while others are speculating that it could be Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot). Either way, the Cassadine prince is alive, and may just be biding his time until he comes to Ava’s rescue.

Nikolas’ love for Ava is a true testament to the statement that love never dies. Despite all that they’ve been through, he’s hoping for another shot at working on his marriage with her. Would she ever take the guy back? Perhaps a grand gesture like putting himself at risk to rescue her from the manipulating snakes circling around her would reignite some passion between them.

Of course, there is a chance that Ava could be trapped in a one-way romance with Nikolas if she doesn’t return his affections but he holds the power to tattle about her attempted murder. Could Austin end up battling for Ava’s attention if Nik comes back into the picture doing the same? Do you see Ava and Nikolas getting back together after all that has transpired, or would you rather see her cozy up to someone new, like Austin?
