General Hospital Spoilers: Austin Worries Mason Is The Hook — Does It Make Sense?

General Hospital Spoilers tease Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) kicked up some dust in Dr. Austin Gatlin Holt’s (Roger Howarth) office this week when his cousin, Mason (Nathanyael Grey) wouldn’t cop to the truth. Ava knows the difference between the truth and a lie and wrong and right; she’s just comfortable with the whole spectrum.

She can spot a con artist when she sees one, and she now recognizes the same shady behavior in Austin’s family that she knows from her own. Being a Jerome is a life skill, as it turns out. Finding that she and Austin have some unusual common ground just might make Ava feel more drawn to the good doctor, and he to her.

Ava’s debate with Mason had entertainment value for Austin, but he certainly doesn’t want her getting caught up with ticking his volatile cousin off. That being said, Ava said something that Austin won’t be able to forget.

General Hospital Spoilers — “You Were There”

Ava knew the moment she laid eyes on Mason that she had seen him before. When he insisted that she hadn’t, that only made her more suspicious. After all, what is more likely — that Ava remembers seeing Mason, or that Mason knows he was never present anywhere she could have seen him?

His sketchy demeanor threw off old-school alarms for Ava that she hadn’t exercised in quite a while and perhaps didn’t know she missed. Austin just sat by taking it all in and letting Ava make her case, but what will he do now with what he has learned about his mischievous criminal cousin?

GH Spoilers – Hint Mason Isn’t The Hook

It’s not likely that Mason is The Hook, despite Austin’s budding concerns. For starters, Mason hardly has any reason to target people close to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali). However, that doesn’t mean someone he is working for doesn’t. Still, the police are certain that The Hook is a woman, and witness accounts place the hook-wielding psycho as being shorter and having a frame similar to a woman’s more so than a man’s.

It’s just not probable that Mason has been at all of these crime scenes either, and as Austin reviews the case statistics in his mind, he’ll come to see that. Still, he will be plagued by wondering why Mason would have been anywhere near Ava the night she got hooked.

General Hospital Spoilers — But He Knows Who Is

Of course, just because Mason isn’t The Hook doesn’t mean he doesn’t know who is behind the crime spree. Could it be the mysterious “boss lady” who Austin often refers to? He’s sick of doing her bidding, but we’ve never gleaned whether or not Austin even knows who she is.

Likewise, we don’t know why she has any power over him, nor why Mason’s threats actually carry weight with Austin. Could Ava be the crux that unravels more of Austin’s secrets? Keep checking back with us for more GH news, spoilers, and updates to find out.
