General Hospital Spoilers reveal Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) might still care about Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) — as is evidenced by his recent concern for Georgie Spinelli (Lily Fisher) when his cousin Mason (Nathanyael Grey) issued a veiled threat that he might harm the Maxonista’s daughter. However, he has accepted that their relationship is over and that they aren’t likely to remain friends. He’s open to moving on, and he just might need to meet his next match by figuring out who is woman enough to handle all the family drama he comes with. Fans are speculating that Austin’s next flame is right around the corner. Who might it be?

It’s possible that Austin’s next lady will be none other than Nurse Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst). Fans might scream for this because they loved the chemistry between Herbst and Howarth when he was playing the role of her late husband, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth). Longing for a little bit more of Austin’s warm side that Maxie never really got to see, Elizabeth — the classic damsel in distress — might bring about more of that side of Austin we saw him show to Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) in her final days.

Given that Austin and Liz both practically live at GH, this could make for a new steamy relationship with plenty of conflicts thrown in as they regularly cross paths with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton). Of course, it’s clear Austin brings family drama and blackmail to the table as well, which is something Elizabeth appears to find intriguing in men.

On the other hand, while Elizabeth is certainly willing to overlook terrible mistakes her man makes, she doesn’t make him feel like much of an equal by rarely doing anything terrible herself. For that reason, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) could be a better match for Austin. That being said, their questionable relation to one another via Austin’s dad might make for some seriously strange looks at the next Quartermaine dinner. Still, BLQ did give him a pass for lying to Maxie. She made him feel understood. Of course she understands him; she did the same thing to Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) for what she believed were well-intentioned reasons, just like Austin did to Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson).
