Peter was just going to take Louise and disappear. However, the villain’s weakness is Maxie. Despite him feeling “betrayed” by Maxie, he still will do anything to have a future with her. Maxie was able to make a deal with Peter. She left behind her baby and agreed to leave with Peter. It was an incredibly painful choice but the only one she could make at the time.
