General Hospital Spoilers: Austin’s Wu Connection, Will Mob Ties End Romance?

General Hospital spoilers tease that Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) is apparently not the kindly doctor that he appears to be. He’s been approached by someone’s hired muscle who insists he returns to his boss, referred to only as “her”. While it’s possible that Austin just has a rich ex-girlfriend, it seems much more likely that his boss is actually Selina Wu (Lydia Look), Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Bernard) business associate in the mob. If that’s the case, then Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storm) has once again become romantically involved with a dangerous criminal.

General Hospital Spoilers – Maxie Jones barely survived Peter August!

Maxie’s last relationship with Peter August (Wes Ramsey) put Maxie through an emotional wringer. She is well aware that she chose to see the good in Peter until it was far too late and she was carrying his child. Peter kidnapped Maxie and was only saved when her mother, Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) saved her by killing Peter. Maxie was certain that Peter was a good man, and she sees Austin the same way. But if Austin is somehow tied to the Wu family, then her troubles could start all over again.

GH Spoilers – Maxie Jones will dump Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt!

If Austin works for Selina, the nature of their business is still unknown. Perhaps she or a family member had a medical issue and needed a doctor on her payroll. Or perhaps Austin was involved with something more nefarious. The man who was sent by Austin’s boss indicated that the reason Austin was sent to Port Charles ended in failure. This likely involves Austin’s aborted plan to contest Edward Quartermaine’s (the late John Ingle) will.

General Hospital Spoilers – Is Selina Wu after the Quartermaine money?

If Selina was behind Austin’s attempt at getting a share of the Quartermaine’s fortune, then his failure to do so means that his job in Port Charles is over. Perhaps Selina needs Austin for other matters and he is reluctant to leave because of his feelings for Maxie. Regardless, once Maxie finds out that Austin has been keeping secrets from her, she will likely want nothing more to do whether he has a criminal history or not. Their relationship is likely already over, even though they don’t know it yet. Nothing Austin can do will regain Maxie’s trust, especially given her past with Peter.
