General Hospital Spoilers: Ava and Nikolas Stop Hating One Another Long Enough to Make a Baby?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) loveless marriage may be thawing. GH fans may recall that in recent episodes Ava and Nikolas have been incredibly snarky with one another. Both have been plotting to exit their marriage in a manner that would stick it to the other.

General Hospital Spoilers – It’s All About the Prenup

As part of a prenuptial agreement, Nikolas and Ava agreed that if there were any marital infidelity, the innocent party would walk away with everything, while the offending party would be up a creek without a paddle. GH viewers may recall seeing Ava, in particular, watching Nikolas’s every conversation with other women.

A couple of women Ava apparently has hoped Nikolas might engage in flagrante delicto are Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton). So far, however, Nikolas has managed to avoid any compromising situations.

For his part, Nikolas has also schemed (or at least hoped) that Ava would fall into another man’s arms. An obvious choice, in Nikolas’s estimation, seems to be Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth). While Franco is married to Elizabeth, he used to be lovers with Ava. It might seem a natural thing then if Franco and Ava spend enough time together, they might rekindle their passion. (Of course, this has the added benefit of potentially causing a permanent rift between Elizabeth and Franco, which would leave Elizabeth free for Nikolas to swoop in.)

With all of the above said, GH viewers may remember that recently Ava and Nikolas had a conversation about Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig), Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel), and other people whom Nikolas had harmed. During this heart to heart, it became apparent that Ava was also someone Nikolas had wronged. Those who have been watching the show for a long time know that at one point, Ava and Nikolas were close friends and sometimes lovers. Of course, passions can fade. They certainly have between Ava and Nikolas.

However, GH viewers may agree that during this particular conversation it seemed that Ava and Nikolas stopped their bickering long enough to see the other as a flawed human being. In fact, Ava and Nikolas were able to identify with, and sympathize with each other, if only for a moment.

This leaves the door open to some interesting possibilities. What do Nikolas and Ava want exactly? Everyone knows that despite their constant fights Ava and Nikolas have some kind of mutual attraction going on. Mightn’t it be interesting for GH fans to watch the Good Cassadine (who desperately wants to fix his karma) actually decide to commit to the marriage he’s currently in? What if Ava were to do the same?

Is it possible that if Nikolas and Ava were able to put aside their differences and forgive one another that they could end up major power players in Port Charles? Viewers ought to remember that Ava and Nikolas complement one another well, with one having resources and the other having social acumen. Could a choice to make a baby allow Nikolas and Ava to bring love into their marriage and cement their future together?
