General Hospital spoilers reveal Ava Jerome (Maura West) is playing with fire, and she’s going to get rather reckless soon, despite Austin Gatlin Holt’s (Roger Howarth) attempts to reel her in. Austin warned Ava not to even attempt to go to war with Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey). It wouldn’t end well, he claimed; it can’t. But Ava grew up in the mob.

She knows the ins and outs of this business, and she feels strongly that once you’ve met one Mason, you’ve met them all. Ava might be getting a bit too big for her britches though, and Austin made it clear in no uncertain terms that the person employing Mason is much more of a threat than his irritating cousin is. Nonetheless, Mason knows what Ava did to Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), so is she really in any position to argue? Apparently, she thinks so since she’s planning to have him taken out.
General Hospital Spoilers — Mason Holt Has Ava Jerome Over A Barrel
It was one of Ava‘s most impulsive moments when she bludgeoned Nikolas over the head with an iron knickknack, and just like that he was on the floor, unconscious, without a pulse. She never dreamed she would have an accomplice during such a horrific time in her life, but Austin has been a breath of fresh air that calms her down when things get too tough.
He’s currently doing the same thing, providing a rational outlook on her guilt toward Laura Collins (Genie Francis). But Ava has bigger fish to fry. Mason has come back around, and he’s asking for favors. Ava really isn’t in any position to deny him what he wants. After all, he did discover her dying husband in the tack room of the stables, and he knows where Nikolas is. He knows Nikolas is alive. That information would dissipate a lot of Ava’s guilt right now, but it won’t do anything for Mason if he told her.

Mason might think he has the upper hand, and he’s going to try hard to get Ava to leverage her relationship with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). But Ava is far more fearful of Sonny than she is of Mason. She knows that crossing Sonny could cost her her child, Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola).
And a desperate attempt to make sure her family stays intact, Ava is going to go to Sonny just as Mason asked. And she’s going to ask him for a favor. Will the end of Mason be that favor? It stands to reason that Ava would be comfortable telling Sonny what she’s done. To be honest, she almost did before. She knows that Sonny doesn’t want to take Avery from her anymore, and she can trust that he would do everything in his power to protect her because she is the mother of his child.

Someone should have warned Mason about what he was getting into. Going up against a renowned mobster isn’t for the faint of heart. Sonny doesn’t mess around when someone threatens his family. If he believes a threat is legitimate, he really will stop at nothing to see that it is extinguished.

The problem is, Austin may have been right. Whoever is behind Mason and pulling his strings, it’s likely much more of a threat and the shady lackey ever had been. Is it the “boss lady” Austin keeps referring to, or someone else? Could that be Selina Wu (Lydia Look), who is eager to take over Sonny’s empire? How will she retaliate if Mason is taken out?
