General Hospital Spoilers: Brick Suspicious As Sonny Embraces Dex As His New Jason

General Hospital spoilers and updates tease in this week’s Soap Opera Digest that Brick (Stephen A. Smith) will be suspicious in upcoming GH episodes. Brick won’t think Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) should be so fast to embrace Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) as his new Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

General Hospital Spoilers – Dex Heller Is A Michael Corinthos Plant

Sonny is totally unaware that Dex, who worked as Chet Driscoll’s (Chris Van Etten) replacement at Volonino’s Gym is a plant by Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). Sonny tells Brick he’s so impressed with Dex he’s ready to embrace him as his replacement enforcer for Jason, who was killed several months ago on Cassadine Island. But Brick has his suspicions, having previously told Sonny he would look for a new enforcer and Dex wasn’t his hire.

Michael has been sabotaging Sonny’s legitimate businesses as a way to ruin Sonny, and has even raised the ire of Selina Wu (Lydia Look). Brick insists on looking into Dex’s past and finding out where he really came from and who he really is.

GH Spoilers – Michael Corinthos Encourages Dex Heller

When word gets back to Michael that Dex is making his way into Sonny’s inner circle, he’s pleased with the news. He urges Dex to let Sonny mentor him, having known how to train Dex how to talk and act so as to impress Sonny. Evan Hofer notes in Soap Opera Digest that Dex walks away from that conversation thinking he’ll change his approach to Sonny. He hasn’t been asking Sonny for help up to that time, but Michael tells him Sonny wants people to ask him for help. Sonny will be impressed with Dex’s asking him for guidance and it will make him feel more secure with Dex, although it might make Dex conflicted about the deception of Sonny.

General Hospital Spoilers – Brick Does His Deep Dive

Brando Corbin, (Johnny Wactor) who initially was suspicious of Dex himself, has even warmed up to him. Dex was likely given a background story about being in the military by Michael, so he could pass the test. But it’s a starting point for Brick to do his deep dive into Dex’s background; he doesn’t even tell Brando he’s doing one. He gets the intel having a friendly conversation with him and showing concern over recent events.

That may be the first red flag that Brick sees; what Dex is saying about his past and even his name doesn’t line up with what he says. Dex’s background seems to not even exist, and there are no military records associated with him.

GH Spoilers – Dex Heller Wins Brownie Points

Dex may win brownie points with Sonny and Brando by his assist in giving pill pushing paparazzo Felty (Brian Norris) a beatdown, but he’s not fooling Brick. Brick checks him out at Volonino’s Gym and asks him some pertinent questions trying to feel him out. That way he can get more of an idea of where he may really come from and what his real background might be. Brick also knows about Michael’s crusade to take Sonny down and ruin him and he’s right on target suspecting he’s Michael’s plant; Dex is good, but he’s too good.
