General Hospital Spoilers: Britt Covers for Her New Pal Austin When the Truth About His Family Comes Out

General Hospital spoilers reveals Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) has been getting pretty chummy with her coworker and new friend Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth). She knew Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), her sister-in-law, was into the guy, but now she really understands why. He’s been a great supporter of Britt’s since she revealed her Huntington’s diagnosis to him, and she trusts that he’s going to keep it to himself.

However, Austin has a bit of a sketchy family that keeps creeping into Port Charles — and into the hospital specifically. When Britt catches wind of his participation with them, will she second-guess her opinion of Austin, or might she jump on board with protecting him?

General Hospital Spoilers — Austin Holt’s Family Drama

Austin’s cousin Mason (Nathanyael Grey) showed up in town a few months ago, and Austin never seems happy to see him. Maxie has noticed this, and she’s walked in on more than a few discussions between them that felt like she could cut the tension in the room with a knife. Still, Austin always has some excuse to explain away his mood, his busy schedule, and why he’s spending less time with Maxie than ever. When more truth starts to come to light about Austin’s family’s illegal activities, Maxie is going to start asking more questions than Austin is comfortable answering.

GH Spoilers – Indicate Maxie Jones Grows Suspicious

Maxie isn’t known for her amazing ability to hold her tongue. If she’s thinking something, she’s going to say it — and she expects any man she’s seriously dating would respect that about her. So why was Austin taken aback when Maxie confronted him and asked if he was really performing all the surgeries he’s been claiming are keeping him at the hospital?

Maxie’s gut instinct is as strong as ever, but her weakness has been failing to listen to it. Peter August (Wes Ramsey) didn’t help her strengthen it one bit. Now, every time Maxie starts to suspect Austin is lying to her, she writes it off as paranoia she has developed from being so traumatized by Peter. The reality is, Austin may not be much better, and she’s ignoring all the red flags.

Maxie is going to confront Austin again soon when one of his stories doesn’t add up. Mason will be involved, and he’s not going to make Maxie feel warm and fuzzy when she checks him, too. Maxie can tell something is going on between Austin and Mason, and she just might start snooping around when Austin won’t give her a straight answer that makes sense.

When she goes to Britt and asks her to go out on a limb and share with Maxie whether or not Austin is really attending all of these surgeries that are keeping him too busy to spend time with her, Britt is going to know the answer is no, but that’s not what she’ll tell Maxie.
