General Hospital spoilers: Britt Visited Mom In Jail, Dr. Obrecht In Big Trouble – Can Daughter Save Her?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers revealed Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) ranting about her innocence while locked up in a jail cell. However, it appears that she may be all out of luck when it comes to securing support for her cause.

GH fans who are paying attention have watched as Peter August (Wes Ramsey) plotted, schemed, and then skillfully framed Obrecht for his own crimes. The out of touch Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), desperate to keep her newfound son in her life (ignoring all kinds of evidence about his shady dealings in the process), then arrested Obrecht with glee.

GH Spoilers: Liesl Obrecht Is In Trouble

Viewers may agree that Anna’s euphoria may not last long, but for now, Obrecht is up a creek without a paddle. Consider the fact that in a recent episode, her own niece rejects her. After learning that Obrecht is in jail, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) goes to visit her. While there, Obrecht does her best to convince Nina that she is innocent. She goes on and on about how evil Peter is (ignoring the fact that Nina knows how nefarious her own aunt happens to be) and then tops it off by suggesting that Nina’s adopted brother, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) would want Nina to help her. Of course, this is too much for Nina and she heads off to complain about the whole thing over burgers, fries, and ice tea with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and his aunt!

Then there’s the disaster of her meeting with Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth). As many GH viewers know, Franco and Obrecht have a long history. As a consequence, when Franco overhears Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) discussing Obrecht’s arrest, he’s shocked. He doesn’t believe for an instant that Obrecht is guilty of the charges brought against her. He then heads over to the jailhouse to confront her. After all, one of the things she is accused of is trying to kill Franco, and he wants the truth!

General Hospital Spoilers: Will Britt Westbourne Save Leisl Obrecht?

Of course, she insists that she would never betray his trust in that manner. But, Franco then reminds her of the twisty nature of their relationship and the many times she has gone against him in the past. Just as she did with Nina, Obrecht places all the blame on Peter. However, due to Franco’s knowledge of her character, he too has a problem believing her.

With Obrecht losing friends fast and furious, she may not have the resources she needs to defeat Peter’s plans for her societal demise. In spite of these obvious setbacks, her one saving grace may be the arrival of her daughter, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).

GH fans know that Britt just turned up in Port Charles. Although she seems to have a complicated past with her mother just like everyone else, Britt may be more likely than most to help her out. Just one reason could be Britt’s desire to see her friend Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) at least semi-vindicated against the lying Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier). If she can get her mom to testify against Nelle, that could do the trick vis-à-vis, Brad.

In return, Britt just may be willing to take on her half-brother, Peter. She’s just as devious and just as ruthless. Knowing that viewers may be willing to agree that her appearance in her mother’s jail cell just may be the best thing that’s happened to Obrecht in recent days.

Britt has already told Liesl that she needs to stay clear of the situation. Britt knows that Liesl has done many shady things especially because of Faison. She also knows how much Liesl does not like Peter. Britt has wanted to get to know Peter. She even thought it was cunning on his part to have Jason take out Faison. I rather hope that Britt and Peter to become close. I do want Liesl to be cleared of this situation and for her and Britt to become close again. I want Peter to get back in a better place. I want things to work out for Peter, Liesl, and Britt.
