After 22 years of marriage, Cameron said he and his wife Vanessa were divorcing. This shocking news came in July when the two released a joint statement that they were ending their marriage. Matheson later admitted he doesn’t know what coming next, but he’s grateful as he moves forward.

Not only is Matheson getting a divorce but he’s soon to become an empty nester as well. Meanwhile, he career continues to move forward. He’s been playing Drew Quartermaine on General Hospital since 2021.
Before that, he played Ryan Lavery on All My Children from 1998 to 2011. He was also a correspondent on Good Morning America from 2009 to 2015. He’s also starred in several Hallmark movies and will also be the host of a new game show called Beat the Bridge!

Since Matheson took over the role of Drew, the role has gone through several changes. When he was first rescued on Cassadine Island, Drew was secretly brainwashed by Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) hoped to take control of Drew but was ultimately unable to. Drew also participated in the rescue of Leisl O’Brecht (Kathleen Gati) in Greenland after Victor kidnapped her.
He was also romantically involved with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). Finally, he spent several months in prison for insider trading.

When Drew first got out of prison, he had issues controlling his anger toward Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) who is the reason the SEC discovered the insider trading crime. But eventually the two of them went from enemies to lovers, to each of their mutual benefit.

More recently he announced his intention to run for Congress. He also shared an illicit kiss with Nina’s daughter, the very married Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). There’s plenty of drama coming up for Drew!
