Mathison made his first appearance as Drew Cain on GH in August 2021, taking over the role from the late and great Billy Miller. While a newcomer to the land of Port Charles, he was no stranger to daytime drama.

He played Ryan Lavery on AMC from 1998 to 2011. During his time with the soap, he earned two Daytime Emmy Award nods in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category and scored the Outstanding Male Newcomer Soap Opera Digest award in 1999.
