General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) has fooled nearly all of Port Charles into believing he’s Nathan West (Ryan Paevey).
Since Nathan was so beloved around town, perhaps most PC residents just wanted his return from the grave to be true.
However, Cassius’ claws are coming out now that he’s been revealed as Nathan’s twin brother. It’s obvious that Cassius and Nathan couldn’t be more different despite the impressive charade that Cassius has been putting on.
In GH’s April 7 episode, Cassius definitely gave off the appropriate evil twin vibes in his confrontation with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
Even Britt herself pointed out that Cassius was a pale imitation of Nathan, who was actually a good guy and didn’t just pretend to be one.
Cassius tried to defend some of actions, but it’s clear that he’s looking out for himself more than Britt. Instead of trying to help Britt find freedom like Nathan would do, Cassius is just trying to keep Britt in line.
Based on the threats Cassius delivered, he’s obviously got a sinister side. That was already evident the moment Cassius revealed that he knew about and appreciated Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) putting Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) in a coma.
Cassius may not be as wicked as a baddie like Sidwell or Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), but he could be if he continues down this road. The show just has to decide what direction they’re going to take Cassius in from here.
Despite Cassius’ villainous energy, he does have some weak spots. Cassius genuinely seems to care about James West (Gary James Fuller), and he’s truly fallen for Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) or else he wouldn’t be working so hard to protect Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).
You could argue that Cassius’ decision to cover up Rocco’s role in shooting Cullum is already a step toward redemption. However, it’s not enough to put Cassius in good guy territory since he’s still working for the baddies and lying to Lulu along with everyone else.
Once the truth comes about Cassius, will the show be able to redeem him into a character with staying power?
It’s possible that the people of Port Charles could come to accept Cassius if he turns his life around, but there’s always going to be a certain level of distrust after this fake Nathan situation.
It’s also possible Cassius could spin out into full-blown villain mode and wind up doomed to face a grim fate or at least land in prison.
General Hospital spoilers say Cassius has more tricks up his sleeve, so stay tuned for all the shocking news and disturbing moments to come. Don’t forget to make us your one-stop GH source for all the exciting General Hospital spoilers and news you’re looking for!
