Weeks later, she’s found herself sparring with the City Council over the final resting place of her mother, Virginia Benson (Lois Nettleton) — her adoptive mother, that is. Her birth mother, Bobbie Spencer (Jaclyn Zeman), has shown up at her door to surprise her in the Sunshine State. Bobbie’s visit could be what makes Carly’s entire life turn on a dime.

In a turn of events that leaves Carly as the last to know, and Bobbie as the one who kept this secret from her, it’s going to make Carly feel a level of betrayal she’s never experienced before. Everything she thought she knew about her mothers — both of them — will feel like a lie. How will she reconcile them keeping this secret from her, and deciding what was best for Carly, an adult, without considering her feelings or consulting her at all? This kind of experience could certainly make waves for Carly that cause her to look at other issues in her life through a new lens.

Carly has been holding on to her own secret for months. Just before she died, Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) mother, Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) confessed to Carly that Willow was the twin sister of Nelle Benson-Jerome (Chloe Lanier), making her the daughter of Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). Carly’s personal experience with this kind of deceit is now going to make her reconsider whether she should take Harmony’s secret to her own grave, or if it’s time to head back to Port Charles and come clean with Willow and Nina.
