General Hospital Spoilers: Carly Tells Joss Her Motives Against Nina Weren’t All That Pure

General Hospital Spoilers tease Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has been racing around the hospital defending her lies to Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). When Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) came after her, Carly continued to argue she feels terrible but the circumstances aren’t her fault, disgusting Sonny in the process with her lack of accountability.

Willow might have been gracious enough to recognize how short life is now and has forgiven Carly for her massive lie by omission, but Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) isn’t sure he can come to the same place of resolution. Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) initial reaction when Michael told her what happened was to defend her mother, and that may make Carly feel comfortable opening up to Joss more than anyone else.

General Hospital Spoilers — Joss Jacks Comforts Carly Spencer

Michael wasn’t thrilled when Joss seemed to defend Carly to him. He wasn’t going to take his anger out on his little sister, but he’s not playing around anymore. How is he supposed to forgive his mom when he could lose Willow because of her selfish decisions to not consider anyone else’s feelings? When Joss meets up with her mom, she’s going to offer her a soft place to land.

General Hospital - Carly Spencer (Laura Wright)

That’s just what Carly needs right now and this moment in crisis may serve as a foundation for a new adult relationship between Joss and Carly. While Carly has never hid her mistakes from her children, this will be new for Joss seeing her mom so vulnerable. She’s the only one besides Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) who won’t seek to make Carly feel worse than she already does.

GH Spoilers – Suggest Carly Spencer Explains Herself

Joss isn’t expecting or requiring an explanation from her mother, but Cary is going to deliver one nonetheless. She’s probably still feeling guilty and wants to explain away her choices. If she says it out loud enough times that her only motive was to protect Willow, she may start to believe it herself.

When she tells Joss about the night Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) told her of Willow’s connection to Nina, she may struggle to get the whole story out as she realizes peddling it hasn’t gotten her anywhere, and also that Joss isn’t looking for her to plead her case. Joss will make her feel like it’s not necessary to defend her actions because she’s on her side regardless of whether she was right or wrong.

General Hospital Spoilers — “You Were Only Doing What You Thought Was Best for Willow”

Still, when Joss says that she knows her mom was only doing what she thought was best to protect Willow, Carly will feel the sting of hearing those words roll off of her daughter’s tongue. Does she really want Joss to assume the best of her when she wasn’t acting in her best capacity?

Perhaps it’s that Joss doesn’t cast judgment on her mom even when she’s worthy of being judged, but Carly may feel safe admitting to Joss that everyone may not be entirely wrong. Maybe she did have her own motives for keeping the truth a secret. She knows that won’t change Joss’ opinion of her but it may change the way she feels about herself.
